escaped him before a small hand touched his wrist. He glanced down, seeing Gabriella, and Indigo closed his eyes, forcing his panther to subside. They had to be strong for their mate and children. His panther finally relented.
Kash came over to the other side of his mate, placing his hand on Indigo’s shoulder.
“He’s okay, Indigo. My sister is almost here as well, and she was on the phone with them. That’s why they didn’t answer before. I’ve also been informed there is an experienced doula with them, so he’s okay,” Kash said.
Indigo gave a curt nod, his tongue thick in his mouth as he tried to control all the emotions that were going haywire inside of him.
Indigo leaned over and pressed a kiss to Gabriella’s head, ruffling her hair before he stood back up. He was glad to be a part of the Bliss Pride; their love and devotion meant more than any words could ever express.
They stood there for what felt like forever. The living room was tense, but still, no one left. It was a comfort Indigo knew that not many shifters got in their own communities, and it only further showed how lucky he and Gabriella were to be a part of such a family-style pride.
“There he is,” Kash said.
Relief flooded him until he felt through the mate bond the distress Logan was feeling. Fear clutched his heart, and anger was right there. Fate would not take his mate, the love of his life, away from him.
Damn it. Indigo was pissed off, and instead of Logan calmly reassuring his mate, he was getting angry that he was angry.
“I wanted some coffee,” Logan griped.
“You can’t have any coffee, you’re pregnant,” Indigo said.
That just pissed Logan off more, and he got in his mate’s face. “I know that. I’m not some dam—” A contraction interrupted Logan and had him reaching out and clutching at Indigo as his stomach felt tight and pain shot through him.
“Speaking of pregnant, he’s about to have the baby. I need you to show me to the room he mentioned,” Emory said.
Thank goodness he was there. They’d called Kelsey on the way back home, and she was already on the way there. She’d been on the road headed their way since morning. Hopefully the two troublemakers would try and hold off till then. She was supposed to be there, but with Logan’s approximate due date still two and a half weeks away, they thought there had still been time for her to arrive. The contraction eased up, and Logan took in deep breaths, rubbing his stomach. Indigo held him close, worry in his beautiful blue eyes. Logan sighed, knowing he couldn’t really be angry with his mate, not when he’d been stupid in making Clyde take him to a coffee shop.
“Are you okay?” Indigo asked.
Logan pushed up on his tippytoes and kissed his mate. “By okay do you mean in pain and ready to push the babies out? Then yes. And have a cup of coffee? Then also yes.” Logan kissed him again before he could say anything. “Sorry.”
Now that he was close to Indigo again, the mate bond flooded with his fear, and Logan felt even worse. He kissed his mate again. “I’m really sorry. And to make it up to you, I’ll let you tie me to the bed later.”
A slight smile curved Indigo’s lips. “I’m holding you to that.”
Logan nodded. Indigo kissed him back, and it was as if the man was trying to reach into his soul with his tongue. He claimed every inch of Logan’s mouth, and Logan was helpless to do anything about it. Finally, they pulled apart, and Logan found Emory next to him patiently waiting.
“We need to get you in the room,” Emory whispered. “Your contractions are so close.”
Logan knew that, but the thought of leaving Indigo’s arms made him hesitate. They hadn’t talked about if Indigo could handle being in the delivery room, but before Logan could ask, Indigo scooped him up and headed toward the back of the pride house where the clinic was.
“We have a lot to discuss about what happened today,” Indigo said.
Logan knew that was fair. “Can I have a cup of coffee during this talk?”
Indigo kissed his cheek. “I should say no, but it will only punish us both.”
Logan loved his mate. Fuck, he knew deep down he shouldn’t have done what he did. Hindsight being twenty/twenty and all that.
“I’m sorry,” he said again.
“I know, Bean,” Indigo murmured.
They made it to
