glittery lynx.”
Logan pointed at him. “Gabriella, don’t you think your dad would look good with the blue glitter? Bring out his eyes.”
Indigo stared at his mate in horror. No. Gabriella turned her bright smile on him. Much like Logan, her face was covered in glitter.
“Come on, Daddy, we can be beautiful together,” she said.
“Oh yeah, I remembered Kenny need—”
“You wouldn’t deny family time, would you?” Logan asked.
Was he including himself in that? Indigo stopped short in his retreat, meeting Logan’s eyes. Was he feeling like they were family?
Logan broke eye contact first. “I mean—”
Indigo wasn’t going to let the man retract his words; he joined them on the bed, scooting closer to Logan. “Go ahead, princess.”
“Loggy, help me, please,” Gabriella said.
Indigo caught Logan’s smirk, and even as he faced the doom of wearing glitter for the next few years, as glitter never truly disappeared, he couldn’t help but smile. He’d happily suffer the glitter horror to spend time with his family.
“There, all done,” Gabriella said.
Indigo opened his eyes and looked at his mate, who covered his mouth as he unsuccessfully hid his laughter.
“Blue glitter is not your color,” Logan laughed out. He fell back, laughing hard. Gabriella was no better, laughing along with Logan.
“You two are having so much fun at my expense,” Indigo growled as he attacked.
He first got Gabriella, tickling her relentlessly. He stopped, and his daughter was still gasping with laughter.
“Team up with me and there might be a slice of cake for dessert,” Indigo whispered.
“Are you bribing her?” Logan asked in faux horror.
“Make it two and you got a deal,” Gabriella said.
Indigo laughed but nodded his head. Logan hopped out of bed so fast he nearly stumbled over his own feet. Gabriella and Indigo followed out of bed just as quickly. Gabriella might be too young for her shifter side to manifest, but she still crouched low in anticipation of pouncing on Logan.
Logan looked at both of them, his eyes wide and a smile on his face.
“This is foul play. Two against one,” Logan pointed out.
Indigo huffed out a laugh and jumped for his mate. Gabriella got ready to pounce once again, and Logan went down. Indigo tickled the man’s side, surprised he was actually ticklish. Gabriella attacked his neck, and Logan was laughing and wiggling around.
“Okay, okay,” he gasped out. “I have a cookie stored away.”
Indigo was about to ask what he was talking about, but Gabriella switched teams instantly with a promise of a cookie and bounced onto Indigo. He caught his daughter with ease and pinned her arms so she didn’t tickle him.
“Now who’s bribing who?” Indigo asked.
Logan was panting as he pulled himself up. He pointed at Indigo. “You started it.”
He pushed back his dirty-blond hair that was now caked with glitter. Laughter bubbled up in Indigo’s chest. Logan joined in, and even Gabriella giggled until she wiggled free.
“I still get my cake and cookie, right?” She crossed her arms, and for a five-year-old covered in glitter, she looked pretty damn serious.
“Yes, but you have to eat all of your vegetables,” Indigo said.
Gabriella gawked at him. “But—”
“Fine print, princess,” Indigo said, pulling her to him and hugging her.
She hugged him back, and Indigo’s heart swelled. He wanted this all the time. He wanted his family.
They spent the entire day together, and Indigo couldn’t help but watch Logan and the way he smiled so brightly around them.
“Come, princess, it’s time for bed,” Indigo said.
“But I want to stay the night with Loggy,” Gabriella whined.
Logan kissed Gabriella on the forehead. “How about tomorrow we have a movie night, just you and me,” he offered.
Gabriella smiled so brightly at him. “Okay.” She hopped out of bed, and Indigo grabbed her hand and headed toward the door.
“I’ll be right back,” he said. Ever since the first night, Indigo had been sleeping in Logan’s bed with him until his mate fell asleep.
Indigo opened the door and made his way downstairs through the maze of hallways and to Gabriella’s room. The pride house was enormous. Kenny had informed Indigo that it had recently gone under construction with the news that they could have children with their fated mates. Indigo was glad for it. They had already washed up after the glitter fiasco, but the glitter was still on Gabriella’s face as he placed a kiss on her forehead and tucked her into her bed.
She reached up and squished his face. “Are you going to be nice to Loggy?” Gabriella asked.
Indigo was caught off guard by the question for
