wanted nothing more than to usher Logan into his own room, but he doubted that would happen just yet.
Logan made his way to the stairs, and Indigo walked farther down the hall. He stopped when he felt Logan’s eyes on him. He glanced over his shoulder and remembered how Logan had reacted back at his apartment. Indigo stretched his hand out to Logan.
“Come on, Bean, I want to check on Gabriella,” Indigo said.
Logan hesitated for a second before he came to Indigo’s side; he didn’t grab his offered hand but clung to his shirt. Indigo was fine with that. He still was working on convincing Logan that he wouldn’t repeat his mistake from years ago.
Indigo knocked on Ava’s door lightly, and he waited a bit. They might be sound asleep. Before they turned away, footsteps pattered toward the door. Ava opened it, her blue hair braided to the side. She rubbed her eyes, and a smile lit up her face when she saw Logan next to Indigo.
Ava looked happy to see him. “Hey, Uncle Logan!”
“Hey, Ava, sorry we woke you,” Logan said.
She shook her head. “Gabriella fell asleep already.”
“I can take her to her bed,” Indigo offered.
“That’s okay, she can stay in mine. I promised makeup fun in the morning,” Ava replied.
Indigo smiled down at the teenage girl. “Thanks, Ava. You’re a really good big sister.”
She blushed a deep red. “Oh yeah, she drew a picture for both of you.” Ava ran back into her room and grabbed said piece of paper and handed it over to Indigo. He glanced at it. It was a drawing of Indigo and Gabriella, and the other person was definitely Logan along with Indigo and Gabriella standing under a rainbow. They all had bright green smiles.
“Thank you. Night, Ava,” Indigo said.
“Night.” She closed the door with a soft click.
“What’s the picture?” Logan asked.
Indigo handed it over and ushered them up the stairs. Logan stopped, and Indigo picked him up, chuckling at the surprised yelp.
“This whole picking me up thing is not okay,” Logan said, even as he laid his head down on Indigo’s shoulder.
“I’ll keep that in mind,” Indigo muttered, making his way to Logan’s room.
Indigo opened the door and sat Logan down on the bed. He clutched the colorfully drawn picture, his eyes roaming over it. A smile curved his lips, and Indigo couldn’t help but feel his own mirrored his mate’s.
“I’m sure Gabriella will let you keep it,” Indigo offered.
“What?” Logan asked, finally looking up from the drawing.
There was a knock at the door before Indigo could answer him. Kash walked into the room carrying two trays of food. Indigo went to help him, instantly grabbing one of them.
“Here, you both need to eat,” Kash said. There was no room for argument with his tone. The alpha power wafted off him, but he didn’t force his will on them.
Indigo hadn’t had much of an appetite since the day Logan left, but he’d eaten plain foods like crackers. But now with his mate right there next to him, his mouth salivated at the sight before him. He licked his lips in anticipation, but even as his appetite came back, he was more concerned about Logan.
Indigo picked up a homemade french fry and brought it to Logan’s lips. His mate glared at him, and he thought for a second he was going to turn away, but Logan opened his mouth and chomped down on the fry, barely missing Indigo’s fingers. Indigo bit the inside of his cheek to keep his smile at bay, knowing it would piss off his mate. Kash didn’t succeed, but he quickly turned his laughter into a cough.
Logan still looked at Kash with a glare, but Indigo held another french fry up to his lips, smiling when Logan took it into his mouth.
“Make sure you eat too, Indigo,” Kash said as he left the room, leaving Logan and Indigo alone.
“You should be feeding yourself,” Logan said, even as Indigo brought another french fry up. How could he focus on himself when feeding his mate was bringing him so much joy? His panther practically purred as they fed their mate.
“I will once you’ve eaten a little more,” Indigo said.
Logan opened his mouth, and his brows slanted down. “I am a fully functioning adult. I can feed myself.”
God, he was so cute when he was angry. Indigo smiled.
“I know, but humor me for a bit more,” Indigo said.
Logan huffed out a breath but still took the offered french fry. Indigo picked up
