but he laughed as Indigo left the room. His mate could be a little terrifying when he wanted to be.
“Hey, princess, want to hang out with Daddy?” Indigo said.
She didn’t glance his way either. “I’m practicing right now, Daddy.”
He did not understand what she was practicing. She was just hovering over Samantha as she waddled around the living room. Dillan was sitting on Rhy’s lap as they watched over their little girl with loving eyes. Rhy looked up and nodded his head at Indigo. Indigo went to join them on the couch. Rhy was tallest in the pride, and his tiger was easily the biggest of them all, and yet he was as gentle as a breeze. The man never raised his voice, and he was patient as a saint.
“Do you know what she’s practicing?” Indigo asked.
Rhy chuckled. “Yes, she’s practicing being a big sister.”
Indigo looked back at his daughter. “Of course she is.”
“Are you and Logan having a baby?” Dillan asked eagerly. His black cat ears popped out instantly. Another thing most shifters weren’t capable of. Indigo had heard of some getting stuck, but Dillan seemed to be able to switch out of all forms with ease.
“Not that I know of,” Indigo said.
He looked toward the hallway that led to the clinic and wondered if Logan was pregnant. Indigo doubted it, and he was pretty sure Logan would have told him if that were the case. Plus, it was way too soon to know for sure.
“But you two will, right?” Dillan asked.
Rhy wrapped his arms around his mate and pulled him back a little. “Sweetheart, when they are ready they will tell us.”
Dillan was like putty in Rhy’s arms, and Indigo blew out a breath of relief because he honestly didn’t have the answer for Dillan. As much as Indigo wanted more children with Logan, he wasn’t about to put pressure on his mate. He was more than happy to continue to try with his mate though.
Indigo walked over to Gabriella and bent over, placing a kiss on top of her head, and left her to her practice. An idea he’d been floating around in his mind since they had officially bonded came back around. Now was as good a time as any other. Indigo pulled out his phone, doing a quick search and finding exactly what he needed in a few seconds. He dialed the number, and it rang a few times before someone answered.
“Hi, I was wondering if you took walk-ins?” Indigo asked.
“We have a few artists that are available to take walk-ins, but it all depends on the design you’re wanting,” the woman said over the phone.
Indigo looked around, but he was too out in the open to describe it fully. “It’s small and I have a few reference photos I can send over.”
The woman over the phone gave Indigo their email address, and he went into his photo album and picked out four photos that the artist could use for reference. He shoved his phone in his pocket, now with a plan for a surprise for his mate. He popped back into the living room, catching Rhy’s attention once more.
“Can you two watch Gabriella while I’m gone for a bit?”
Rhy gave a quick thumbs up. “Sure thing.”
“Thank you,” Indigo said.
He stopped in his room to get some shoes and his wallet and keys. He nearly made it past the kitchen.
“Where are you going?” Cole asked.
Kenny looked up from helping Ava and caught Indigo’s eye.
“Uh, out,” Indigo said. Not at all suspicious.
Both men stared at him like they knew he was hiding something.
“It’s a secret,” Indigo whispered.
“Uncle Indigo, that’s pointless. We all have heightened hearing,” Ava remarked as she continued doing her homework.
“Yes, I know that, but the rooms are all soundproofed,” Indigo pointed out.
Whispering was just a precaution, just in case the door to the clinic was cracked open. It made the noises come through a little, but not by much.
“Do you have to go alone?” Kenny asked.
“Well, no,” Indigo said.
“All done,” Ava said, standing up. She kissed Kenny on the cheek. “I’m going to go find Dillan and Gabriella.”
Kenny came over to Indigo. He was taller than Indigo by a few inches, and the beta could be intimidating, to say the least, but he was a good guy. He lifted a thick brow at Indigo, and Indigo knew he wasn’t getting out of the house scot-free. He gestured for both of them to follow him outside. They made it to the front yard, and
