a tornado came through.”
“Hey, boss man,” Cole said, popping up from a stack of papers.
“Nope, not a tornado, just our very own Cole,” Clyde muttered, finishing with one of the million boxes they were going through.
Rhy stood behind Dezi, and his eyes went wide. He made his way into the room.
“I’ll help,” Rhy said.
The man was so nice Indigo felt bad. He’d obviously had the place together before he went on a leave of absence. He instantly went to work without any of them saying anything.
“Now you’re just making me look bad, Rhy,” Dezi huffed out. He sat his bulky form outside the room but still started stacking the papers near him and sorting them. Now they had ten hands, and it should get done quicker. Hopefully.

Indigo was tired. Who knew filing papers could be so much work? He stretched his arms over his head, popping his spine. They ended up working later than planned. They sent Dezi and Rhy home to be with their mates and kids. Cole and Clyde had told Indigo to do the same, but he’d stayed a little longer. He wanted to make sure the pride understood how serious he was about helping wherever he could. He’d stopped to get something to eat on the way home. All he wanted to do now was snuggle with his mate and daughter and watch a movie.
Indigo walked into the pride house. There was a lot of commotion going on. Dezi came flying down the stairs.
“There was a blowout,” he said.
Indigo did not envy them at that moment. He walked into the living room, and Dillan and Rhy were playing with Samantha. Morgan was sound asleep on Kenny’s lap, and Ava was playing some new game. Instead of race cars, it was a fighting game. Indigo expected to see Gabriella amongst them but didn’t spot her.
He made his way to the kitchen and found Dezi holding one twin, green poop all the way up the baby’s back, with some even in his hair. Yep, don’t miss that. But once Logan and he had a baby, he’d be prepared for it. Indigo glanced at the table and didn’t see his mate or Gabriella.
He went to the clinic and nope, no one was there. Where are they?
“Have you seen Gabriella and Logan?” Indigo asked.
Rhy looked up. “I think I saw them go to their room.”
Huh, it was odd for them to disappear while everyone else was out there in the living room. Indigo made it to his room and turned the knob.
“I’m home,” he announced.
He didn’t even make it through the door when there were loud pops and confetti and they tossed streamers at him. Indigo was freaking sure there was damn glitter in the confetti. He opened his mouth to talk about the glitter when he looked around the room. It was full of pink and blue balloons. A huge banner that read “Congratulations” hung from the ceiling. Indigo picked up some confetti and read the word “baby.”
“Surprise,” Gabriella shouted.
This couldn’t mean what he thought it meant, right? Indigo looked to his daughter and mate.
“Were you surprised, Daddy?” Gabriella asked as she ran up to him and hugged him.
He hugged her and waded his way through the balloons that covered the entire floor.
“Everything says baby on them, how cool,” Gabriella said.
Indigo made it to Logan and kissed his mate. “Um, is this all a sign you’re ready to have a baby?”
Logan crossed his arms and glared at him. “I want you to know right now that this no-coffee rule is going to get old real quick.”
Indigo couldn’t be hearing what he was hearing. “You mean…?”
Logan sighed, but there was a smile on his face. “Yes, I mean I’m pregnant and hopefully only having one baby.”
Gabriella screamed, and Indigo winced. Had Logan really not told her?
“Papa, am I really getting a little brother or sister?” Her eyes were big with excitement.
Logan nodded. “Yes.” She wiggled to get down.
“I have to go tell Ava and get more practice in,” Gabriella said. She was out of Indigo’s arms and out the door in seconds.
Indigo moved closer to his mate and pulled him in for a hug. “Are you okay?”
Logan nodded. “I’m just going to really miss coffee during this time.”
Indigo chuckled but kissed his mate. They were expecting. Their family was growing. The joy that raced through him was unmatched by anything else. His hand went to Logan’s abdomen, knowing it was too early for anything to show.
“How are you feeling? Are
