tell you more about her. She would have loved you. You probably could have gotten her to like coffee, although she was a tea drinker.”
Logan shook his head. “Oh no, not tea.”
Indigo laughed. “Is it my turn to ask?”
Logan nodded.
“Hmm, any family outside of the pride?”
Indigo knew everyone in the Bliss Pride had different circumstances and that the pride had come about for those who normally didn’t have anywhere to go.
“No, I did, but my grandma passed eight years ago. And once she did, I hightailed it out of there. My old alpha was old-school in his thoughts. He didn’t allow same-sex pairings, and I knew from a young age that I was only into men, so there was no way I could pretend. I guess it didn’t help that my grandmother had filled my head with stories of true mates and the possibility of conceiving, even with same-sex pairings. She had been keeping things under wraps until I found an old book in her closet. She was the litter’s doc, and so she had a lot of stuff about shifters. Of course, I’d thought it was crazy talk of an old lady till I met you.” Logan glanced up at Indigo. “And then the baby thing was real once Dillan got pregnant.”
Indigo’s brain still hadn’t wrapped around it. It was crazy but amazing at the same time. He’d previously only met one other mated pairing in the Huning Prowl, but they hadn’t been pregnant at the time. That was now no longer the case. He still kept in touch with his old alpha, and the news was that they were expecting. Indigo couldn’t wait to have that with Logan, if he wanted more children.
Indigo bit the inside of his cheek as the question circled in his head.
“I can tell you want to ask me another question,” Logan pointed out.
He did. The server decided that was the perfect time to bring their food, and Logan licked his lips at the giant burger he’d ordered. He picked it up and bit into it, groaning with his eyes closed. It had Indigo’s cock jerking in his jeans. It was now or never.
“Do you want more children?” Indigo rushed out.
Logan stopped chewing, and his eyes popped open. Indigo picked up his own burger and took his own bite to busy himself, as Logan undoubtedly thought about it. Logan swallowed and put the burger down.
“Do you want more kids?” Logan asked.
Indigo swallowed his bite down. Of course he wanted more kids, but he wanted Logan’s answer first. “I asked first.”
Logan lifted a brow at him. “It was technically my turn to ask a question.”
Indigo couldn’t contain the laughter that bubbled out of him. “Yes, but I asked first.”
Logan crossed his arms on the table and fixed Indigo with a glare. Indigo already felt himself caving. He was just too cute to resist.
“You’re cheating,” Indigo pointed out. He sighed. “Yes, I want more kids.”
“How many?” Logan asked.
Indigo shook his head. “Nope, it’s your turn to answer.”
Logan smirked at him but nodded. “Fair. Yes, I’d like more kids, but only after talking with Gabriella.”
Indigo nodded. “Oh, I meant to tell you, did you know Gabriella already thought we were mated?”
Logan choked on his coffee, and he put the mug down with a clang. “What?”
Indigo nodded. “Yep, same thing I said.”
Logan shook his head. “That would explain the latest drawing,” Logan said.
“What drawing?”
Logan avoided Indigo’s eyes, staring off to the side with a red tint to his cheeks. “She gave me a picture this morning of all of us and another tiny stick figure at the bottom. When I asked her about it, she said she’s going to be a good big sister one day.”
Indigo shook his head. His little girl was throwing them both for a loop at every turn.
Dinner was amazing. Logan had no idea what else Indigo had planned for their abrupt date. He loved the fact that he was finding out more about his mate, and every new fact made him fall harder for the man.
Indigo linked arms with Logan, and he couldn’t help the giddiness that coursed through him. A part of him was angry with himself that he’d put this off for so long that he’d denied his mate the chance to explain everything, but he couldn’t dwell on that. Logan looked up at Indigo, and he had a huge grin on his face.
“Why are you so happy?” Logan asked.
Indigo glanced at him, giving him a wink. “It’s impossible not to
