them until Indigo backed the seat up.
“Should have done that first,” Indigo said.
Logan laughed, but he was still a ball of anxiety.
Indigo cupped his mate’s face, bringing their foreheads together. “They are your family, and they didn’t have all the facts, your side or mine. And I’m sure they are just happy for us.” He took Logan’s lips in a sweet kiss. “It took us some time, but what matters is the result. We’re mated, and I’m over the moon about it.”
They kissed again, and Logan relaxed against him. “I’m happy about it too.”
They sat there in silence for a bit till there was a knock at the car window, startling both of them. Dillan and Cole both stood there with huge smiles on their faces, waving at them.
“The two goofballs, yay,” Logan chuckled.
“See, they’re happy,” Indigo said.
Indigo opened the door, and Logan got off his lap, much to Indigo’s displeasure.
“Daddy, Loggy, you’re home,” Gabriella shouted as she ran up to them. Logan caught her and hugged her tight. “Are we a family, like Morgy, Ken Ken, and Ava, and like Uncle Dezi, Uncle Kash, Rainar, and Ramsey?” She sucked in a big breath. “And Uncle Rhy and Uncle Dillan and Samantha?”
Logan looked to Indigo, and he kissed his daughter on the forehead. The entire pride was out on the front lawn, barely holding back their laughter.
Logan looked so confused, and Indigo just shrugged at his mate, leaving it up to him. Logan’s gaze went back to Gabriella, who looked so excited.
“Gabriella, would it be okay if I joined your family?” Logan asked.
Gabriella smiled big and wrapped her arms around Logan’s neck.
“I’m going to say that is a yes,” Indigo said.
Logan tried nodding, but Gabriella was holding his neck too hard.
“Can I call you Papa instead of Loggy now?” Gabriella asked.
Everyone went still, and the bond went from shock to nothing but love. Indigo moved around and found Logan crying as he hugged their daughter.
“I’d like that,” Logan said.
Being mated was a surreal experience. It felt like no matter if they were right next to each other or a few doors away, Logan felt the connection to Indigo. As if the man was always with him, even when he wasn’t.
It had only been a week and a half, and still Logan was shocked by it all. “Come on and sit down, Morgan,” Logan said.
Morgan fidgeted in the seat before lying back. His pants were already unbuttoned and his shirt up, his protruding belly on full display. He was nearly his approximate due date—well, at least the first one. With Morgan being a wolf and Kenny being a snow leopard, the length of pregnancy was different. So they had two different dates set for Morgan.
“Where’s Kenny?” Logan asked.
“Ava has a test coming up in science, and she’s been freaking out about it. Kenny’s quizzing her and helping her remember everything,” Morgan supplied.
Logan squirted some gel on Morgan’s belly and moved it around until he got a good picture of the baby boy.
“There he is,” Logan said. He hit a few keys. “Looks like he’s already in a position to be delivered.”
Morgan stared lovingly at the grainy black-and-white screen.
“I can’t believe he will be here any day. I almost don’t feel ready,” Morgan said.
Logan cleaned up everything, wiping the gel off Morgan.
“I don’t think anyone is ever really ready for a baby. You just do what you can and adapt when they get here,” Logan said.
He busied himself as Morgan got dressed in silence.
“That’s true. Will you and Indigo have more children?” Morgan asked.
He was so quiet with it, Logan nearly missed it. But that was Morgan. He was always quiet and polite. How he fit so easily with their rowdy bunch was funny, but there was no denying that Morgan was very much a part of the pride.
“We agreed that we wanted more, but our mating is so new and I’m still getting used to having Gabriella call me Papa.” Logan’s chest tightened at the thought of his daughter and the way she smiled at him when she said Papa. It was the best feeling in the world—he felt like he could do anything for her. “So maybe in the future, like a year or so from now.”
Morgan chuckled with a knowing look.
“What are you snickering about?” Logan asked his friend.
Morgan shrugged. “I don’t think any of us planned our pregnancy, it just happened.”
Logan shook his head. “True, but I’m conscious of the moon cycle, so I can at least hold
