left,” Dezi said.
After breakfast, Logan had to do a checkup with Morgan and Kenny. Indigo busied himself thinking of what to do to take the next step in their relationship.
“Why don’t you take him out,” Kash suggested. He was rocking Rainar in his arms as he sat on the couch.
“On like a date?” Indigo asked.
Kash nodded. “We may be shifters, and when we find our mates our instinct is to complete the bond, but we still enjoy going on dates and being wowed. I made Dezi a steak the other night and planned a date night under the stars.” Kash shrugged. “Romance him.”
Indigo nodded and pulled out his phone and looked up a few things to do out and around town. He didn’t know how long Logan needed, so he planned for dinner.
“I have to go find Ava,” Indigo said as he walked out of the living room.
Indigo found Ava outside with Dezi practicing shifting. She was sweating, her blue hair clinging to her face. Indigo waited for them to be finished. Ava completed the shift and was bouncing around. If any normal human being saw a wolf jumping around in the air doing little dances, they’d probably think they were dreaming. Indigo was happy for her; he knew as a runt—and he hated that word—her connection with her animal side was a little fainter. Shifting for her was a lot more work than the rest of them, but whenever she did shift, she seemed so happy. Indigo waited for her to shift back. She got dressed, and before she walked back into the house, Indigo caught her attention.
“Hey, Ava.”
She stopped, turning to face him.
“Do you think you can babysit tonight?” Indigo asked.
Ava smiled at him. “Of course. Gabriella is like a little sister to me.”
Indigo let out a sigh of relief. “Thanks.”
Now to find his mate and convince him to go out on a date. Easy peasy—or at least he hoped.

Convincing his mate to go out on a date was a lot easier than he’d expected, especially with a cookie in his hand.
“Thanks, Ava,” Indigo said.
He squatted to his daughter’s eye level. “You be good for Ava, okay.”
Gabriella smiled at him and fit her little arms around his neck and hugged him. “I will, Daddy. Are you going to be nice to Loggy?”
Indigo muffled his laughter. It was the second time his daughter was looking out for Logan. “Of course. I will be the perfect gentleman.”
Gabriella pulled back and fixed him with a glare that rivaled her late mother’s. He ruffled her hair. Logan picked Gabriella up and kissed her on the cheek.
“See you later, princess.”
She hugged him, and Logan put her back down. Indigo intertwined their fingers as they left the pride house. The trip to downtown was relaxed, and Indigo kept their hands clasped together the entire ride to the burger joint he’d chosen for dinner. Not once had Logan pulled away. Indigo felt giddy about the date.
They took a seat at a restaurant downtown and ordered their drinks. Of course, Logan ordered a coffee and water. The man had already had a cup when they were at home. Logan fiddled a bit in his seat, glancing up at Indigo and then quickly glancing away. Damn, he was so cute.
“What’s the matter?” Indigo asked.
Logan sighed. “I—fuck.” Logan ran his hand over his face.
“Oh, you want to fuck right now?” Indigo asked, lowering his voice and leaning forward. “I didn’t know you were into having an audience.” He licked his lips and fixed his mate with a heated look.
Logan blushed but glared at him. “I don’t need people looking at your ass or tattooed body,” Logan grumbled.
Indigo was taken back. Did Logan not know how delectable he was? All eyes would certainly be on him.
Logan pointed at him. “And stop giving me fuck-me eyes. We are at a restaurant.”
Indigo shrugged. “Kind of hard to do, Bean. You look good enough to eat.”
Logan groaned. “You have been hanging out with Cole and Dezi too freaking long. The cheesy lines coming out of your mouth,” Logan said.
Indigo threw his head back as he laughed.
“Anyway, this is our first, you know—”
“Date?” Indigo supplied.
“Yes, and now some things have been cleared up and we are starting fresh.” Logan blew out a breath, not quite meeting Indigo’s eyes. “Uh, I want to know more about you. And of course, if you want to know anything about me, I’m willing to talk and shit.”
Indigo blinked a few times as a smile tugged at his
