behind his back. Kinda rocking on his heels.
“What’s that look for?” I ask him. Then take up my position on his right and face the hallways where the newcomers will eventually appear.
“What look? I don’t have a look.”
“You look guilty of something.”
“I’m not guilty of anything. I’m as innocent as a newly minted star.”
“Right.” I chuckle.
“Tray,” ALCOR says. “You’re wanted on the upper level docking station.”
“How come?” he asks. Never lifting his eyes form his tablet.
“We have a sentient ship.”
This makes Tray look up. “Wow.”
“Not just one,” ALCOR says. “Hundreds.”
“What?” Tray looks all the way up. To the window above our heads. My eyes follow along and yep. Sure enough, there’s a huge ship covering up half of the viewing window.
“You’re in charge of them now. That one—“ ALCOR points to the ship above us. “Is called Prison Princess. She asked for you.”
“For me?” Tray blushes a little. “How did she hear about me?”
“You’ll have to ask her,” ALCOR replies.
Tray doesn’t waste another second. He turns and starts heading for the lift that will take him up to the top air lock.
Jimmy jabs me in the ribs. “Here they come.” And then he goes speechless as the troop of princesses appear down the long hallway.
I hold my breath as they come into view. The girl leading them is silver. Just like Jimmy said. She’s holding a small girl with silver pigtails on her hip and another small girl—with pink hair this time—holds her hand. Behind her is a trail of glowing girls.
Pinks and reds. Blues and greens. And lots and lots of golds.
Suddenly Serpint and Draden run out and start shooting the little ones with their play guns. A soft blob of fluff hits the small pink girl in front.
“You’re dead,” Serpint yells. “I killed you.”
“No, I killed her,” Draden insists. And then he hits her with a soft blob of fluff too. “Go to regeneration for five minutes, girl!”
We all look at the little girl. Who smiles as she pulls out a toy sword. “I challenge you,” she yells back. “Duel me! Or die!”
Draden and Serpint run towards her and suddenly all the little kids are running around, playing war.
“Well, that went well,” ALCOR leans in to whisper.
“I am the queen’s guard,” another girl says. She is very pink. And very short.
Jimmy laughs. “You’re not the queen’s guard.”
She whips out a sword too. But it’s not a toy. “I am the pink princess, Delphi. And I dare you to challenge me again!”
“There will be no challenges today. Not with real swords,” ALCOR says. “Welcome to the Academy for Unwanted Children. Every child is welcome here. All we ask is that you contribute.”
He goes on and on about the rules. But I’ve heard this speech a millions times so I turn it out.
Because the silver princess in front is staring at us.
No. She’s staring at… me.
“Hey,” Jimmy says. Again with the elbow. “You can have that silver one. I like the little pink freak.”
But I don’t need his permission.
Because her silver eyes crackle with sparkling light just as mine flash with violet heat.
And then everything that was unknown becomes known.
“Princess Alera,” I breathe.
I didn’t need an eternity to hunt her down.
She has been with me since the very beginning.
Because she is mine.
She has always been mine.
I walk towards her with an outstretched hand.
And when she takes it, I look her in the eyes as I kiss her knuckles and say, “Welcome to our time.”

END OF BOOK SHIT
Welcome to the End of Book Shit where I get to say anything I want about the book and since this is the end of a series, it’s a good time to reflect back on my goals and see how I did.
So it’s kinda funny that I’m finishing two long series at the same time because I just, like moments ago, wrote the EOBS for Bossy Luke—which is the last book in the seven-book Bossy Brothers series.
And this book, Uncrossed, is also the last book in a seven-book series. It makes sense because I started them at the same time. But how we got to the end was totally different.
Like, I cannot even stress enough how much I did not plan this series. lol
I mean, I kinda went in to it knowing these aliens had two dicks and that was my big selling point. I just really wanted to
