go ahead to start prepping for tomorrow.
I inwardly grin at thinking about how surprised my woman will be when she finds out she’s marrying me once again tomorrow evening.
Chapter Nine
Kenny
The sun shines in through the window warming my face with its warmth. Stretching, I realize right away I’m in bed by myself.
I open my eyes and listen to the quietness of the cabin to try and figure out where Scotty might be. Not hearing any movements, I sit up pulling the sheet with me to cover my bare breasts.
Where is he?
Since the other night when we got to the cabin, I now know he’d been waiting to surprise me with today, I’ve barely left this bed. The only time I did had been when we went into the living room and he’d catered to me while also loving me in front of the fireplace. All while he did this, he showed me the man I’d been missing. My husband.
The both of us should have been communicating better than we have been and I know I should have said something long before now. But yesterday I realized I’d been blinding myself with the way I’ve acted myself, distancing myself away from him.
I climb out of the bed to go in search of Scotty. I pull the sheet with me and walk out of the bedroom. I stop at the sight of the living room. My breath is caught in my chest as I glance around the room at the rose petals coating the floor, leading to the open kitchen. Next to the coffee maker is a vase of beautiful red roses and a box of my favorite chocolates sitting there. In front of the vase sits an envelope with my name on it.
Smiling I make my way to the coffee maker, on the front where it says brew now, he’s placed a sticky note saying press me first. I giggle at this since he knows without coffee, I’m a demon in the morning. Yesterday I didn’t need it due to the amount of sex we had throughout the day and the fact I dozed in between rounds. I hit the button and then lift the pink envelope into my hand.
Opening the flap up, I pull the card out and smile. He’s done so much for me and I didn’t even know it. I open the card and begin reading Scotty’s handwriting.
Sweet girl,
Happy Valentine’s Day.
First, I want to say I’m sorry for the way you thought I’d been treating you. It wasn’t my intention for you to feel I was neglecting you. I’d simply been consumed with making this the best day I could for you.
This afternoon, I want you to be ready for someone to pick you up around two. Take the day to pamper but put the dress on that I’ve set in the closet for you. No I didn’t pick it out, I had help. When the car gets there, they will be bringing you to me.
I love you and I can’t wait to see you.
Forever and Always,
Your ol’ man and husband
Scotty
Oh my God.
I love him so much for this but what is he doing.
I place the card down on the counter and lean in and smell the roses he’d bought for me. God, I wish he were here right now. I’d throw myself into his arms and plant my mouth to his.
Sighing, I grab a cup, he’d also been thoughtful to set out for me, and fill it with coffee. There’s nothing like the taste of it in the morning.
I carry the cup back into the bedroom to see this dress he’s mentioned in the card. A gasp slips past my lips at the beautiful black and red gown. I mean beautiful with the silk of the black and the red that crosses over the breasts.
It’s perfect.
Now I’m more than ready to know what he’s up to.
He mentioned to Kayla he’d been speaking to Avery about a surprise for me. I thought this cabin had been it.
Shaking my head, I take a look at the time on the nightstand. I need to start getting ready soon but I don’t have anything to do my hair and makeup with. For that matter I don’t even have anything to wear under the dress.
I step back to go in search of my phone. I don’t remember if I brought it with me or not. A bag next to the bathroom door catches my eye and I frown. I walk over to
