is Adam. My secret admirer is my best friend. My confidant and support mechanism.
With my heart in my mouth and head swimming full of questions with uncertainty around what to do, I do know that tomorrow morning Adam will be here first thing and everything has to be as ‘normal’ as possible. The rest of the situation though a good night’s rest will decide, if my body will allow.
Chapter Fourteen
Adam
As I curled into the comfort of my thick king size bed I realise in a few days’ time, I would embark on a huge mission, of potential unknown and catastrophic effects, I needed to reflect on those moments that had got me to this point. The place where the lines blurred from friendship into the realisation of the need for more.
A typical night out with the guys was planned as usual, our normal for a Friday to be honest but this one evening remained vivid in every colour possible in my mind’s eye. The typical banter with the guys when I suggested a slight detour to check on Violet, caused a few outbursts but soon halted with the promise of the next round being on me. Any typical best friend would check up on them if nearby, but the sight of her as I walked past the window all alone, with pooled tears about to fall I knew she needed me. The other jerk had decided to take one look and not even join her with the lack of other glasses around, spotless empty table surrounding her. Without a fuss I let them know something had come up, a promise was a promise handing over the crisp notes to my brother Ryan, as normal the jokes of typical “don’t let her wait” and winks grew. Maturity wasn’t our strong point at the best of times I tell you, but the flip of the bird after Ryan’s wind up I march to the desk and point to the table I need to get to. The receptionist had no chance of stopping me, words were of no use as she decided to give in to my persuasive manner.
The look and reaction from Violet was one I had never expected to receive, as she pounced at me the moment her eyes connected with mine, she interlocked those long legs around my waist, with tears of raw emotion and softly rubbed her face in my jawline. An unexpected heat transpired in the air; this woman was something incredible, indescribable. The way her clothes hung to each part of her body was like she had lit a fire straight to my cock, the tight leather trousers fit like a second skin, her black bra which had accented lace parts with a see-through blouse. I licked my lips grateful that Violet was tucked into my neck unable to see this sudden change of fight in my body, the way it was screaming at me to tell her, show her.
It was if we were the only two people present in the room, oblivious to our surroundings she was wrapped around my body so tightly that her nipples had puckered so hard that I could feel the buds raised against my chest. I was attempting to keep cool, try and distract this desire but my cock seemed unaware to the battle my mind was fighting and hardened. The way her eyes devoured me I was unsure if she was obsessed in the same way as myself or if too much wine had affected her inhibitions but it was certainly not a conversation up for discussion in front of the waning eyes that had currently gathered. I just knew I had to protect her at all costs, therefore I had to keep my own feelings hidden for now, that I could eventually unravel them over time, because at the moment it could just be the heat of the moment but until step by step I know, I can’t jeopardise that.
That’s how six months of slow toe stepped moments of being the person nearest and dearest to Violet made me realise I’m not seeing things from a contrived best friend point but that I’m completely, utterly besotted and that if I didn’t make a move soon one day someone would. If I didn’t man up and take charge of my destiny the risk lay in my hands that I would lose the one person I want the most in my life.
