the urge to shift too as I felt my Wolf living freely in my chest now. Rosalie had pulled it off, the Order Suppressant was no longer pumping into the prison. My beautiful, clever mate was going to be fucking famous for this.
I was not going to let her down on the promise I’d made. She’d poured blood, sweat and tears into this plan and fucking Sin was not going to ruin it.
The Bear’s huge, clawed paw swiped backwards, nearly catching me by accident and I growled angrily.
I swear to the stars, Wilder, if I die up here in this riot while I'm looking for you, I'll haunt your ass forevermore.
I had to duck into an alcove as the Centaur was thrown into a herd of Griffins who flapped their wings indignantly. My heart hammered as time ticked by and I wasn't any closer to finding that asshole. I went to move again and my foot slipped on something round. I looked down at the pile of lemons sitting there with a frown pinching my brow.
"What the...oh fuck no," I came to a realisation with my heart thundering in my chest. I'd seen Sin running out of the Mess Hall with something in his arms. He'd done this before. And I knew for a fact that the Belorian hated lemons, so I snatched one up and shoved it in my pocket.
I shook my head, cursing through my teeth as I raced down the corridor back the way I'd come and into the stairwell. I sprinted past a pride of Lions and through the chaos which was fast spreading onto every level of the prison.
"Halt!" a guard shouted from behind me and a vine snared my arm, yanking me to a stop.
I turned, spotting Officer Kato there, raising another hand to cast magic. I clawed at the vine around my arm, trying to tug it free, refusing to be caught. I had to return to Rosalie. I had to get out of here. I wasn't going to forfeit my fucking freedom for anything.
Another vine came at me, then another and another, throwing me against the wall as Kato worked to incapacitate me. I bit through one of the vines with my teeth while tearing another from my body as more and more were sent my way. I growled in fury, preparing to shift, but before I had to, a rogue Minotaur charged up the stairs, his horned head bowed and he head butted Kato out of his way, sending him crashing onto his back. I ripped the remaining vines off of me, thanking my lucky stars before running down the stairs full pelt while Kato called for help.
"Sin!" I bellowed as I made it to level six. I was closing in on the Belorian’s cage, hoping upon hope that I was going to get there before that monster was let loose.
A shredded guard's uniform and a lemon sat together on the steps that led down to the dreaded level where the monster lived. I slowed my pace, moving silently over the steps with my heart thrashing in my chest.
A guttural growl made my skin prickle and I pressed my back to the wall as I made it to the edge of the stairwell. I threw a glance around the wall and saw a terrifying sight. Not one, but two Belorians stood there, seeming to be communicating with clicks of their teeth. Their bodies were grey and smooth and their six legs tapered to razor sharp talons which could cut a man in half. A large collar lay broken on the ground between them and my heart stuttered at the sight of the only thing that could return those creatures to the cage.
There was no sign of Sin so I turned, trying to slip quietly away, not daring to breathe. But as I took two steps away from them, a whoop of laughter rang somewhere ahead of me and my heart lurched in my chest.
A couple of guys came into view, their skin shimmering with scales revealing their Siren Orders.
"They'll never find us down here, Colin!" one of them cried and a roar sounded behind me that made my heart bunch up into my throat.
I started running, the sound of those creatures approaching making fear tumble through my flesh.
I shoved past Colin and his friend, needing to get the fuck away as fast possible.
"Woah, what's the hurry bro?" one of them called after me, but their following screams told me they'd seen
