he did if he gets too close to her. She’s obviously a snake just waiting for another opportunity to strike.
Karen recoils and starts stammering. “I just wanted to give you a chance to see that there are a lot better women out there.”
“There is no woman better than Stacey.” He says vehemently, making me swoon a tiny bit. “I have waited my whole God damned life for her. She is everything and more that I’ve ever dreamed of. No one will ever take her place.” He looks at her with so much hate that I would feel bad if she wasn’t such a horrible bitch. “Do you understand me? No matter what you do, you would never have a snowball’s chance in hell of getting me near you.”
“How did you even find that woman?” I ask because after Danny saying all of that I need to keep my mind out of the gutter. Talking about that woman is a sure fire way to douse my libido in ice cold water.
Karen rolls her eyes. “She’s friends with my cousin.” She huffs acting all put out. “She brags about having screwed him incessantly.” She snorts. “She jumped at the chance to come and see him. She figured that she would get another round with him.”
“What the fuck?” Danny mutters in shock.
“You’re disgusting.” Her words make me want to vomit. “He’s a person, with feelings, not a toy to be passed around to pathetic, skanky ass women.” I growl.
“Whatever.” She has the nerve to laugh. “You’re just another in a long….long line of women. He’ll probably be done with you soon enough. You’re just his newest flavor.”
“This bitch.” Is hissed before Becca shoves me into Danny and starts charging at Karen.
“Oh shit.” Paige mutters, making absolutely no attempt to stop her.
“It’s all good. Dad can afford bail and a good lawyer. She’ll be fine.” Missy states with a little too much enthusiasm.
I manage to come to my senses, since no one else apparently is, and pull Becca back just before she reaches Karen. Although watching her scurry backwards, trip, and land on her ass is a memory that is definitely going to be staying with me forever. Anytime I’m ever having a bad day, all I’ll need to do is remember this moment.
“What are you doing? You can’t go around hitting people.” I give the bitch on the floor a disdainful look. “No matter how much they deserve.”
Bec crosses her arms and pouts. “I wasn’t going to hurt her.” She looks thoughtfully at Karen before shrugging. “Much.”
“What were you thinking?” I huff.
“That the bitch disrespected my future step-mama and that she needed a beat down to teach her some respect.”
I pinch the bridge of my nose and pray for….well I don’t even know anymore. I cut a look at Danny when I hear him chuckle. “It’s not funny. You should not be encouraging this.”
He gives me a half assed shrug. “I mean Missy is right. I can afford bail and a good lawyer.”
“Not the point Dan. Totally not the freaking point here.” I grumble before turning my attention back to my sweet, ready to kill someone girl. “Becs, I really appreciate that you’re so upset on my behalf, but honey, beating her ass isn’t the way to go about this.” I pause for a moment. “And you three need to cool it with the language.”
“That’s rich coming from the woman who stubbed her toe last week and cursed out the edge of the coffee table.” Paige chuckles.
“I know.” Missy snorts. “She used words that I didn’t even know could be used to curse something out.”
“It was my pinky toe! That one always hurts the worst!” I wave my arms through the air. “And that’s not the point either.”
Missy rolls her head onto Danny’s shoulder. “Is this really the kind of woman that you want near your impressionable teenage daughters?”
I can see his shoulders shaking but like a man that values his life, he remains quiet.
“Don’t even start that. I’m friends with your mother. That woman has me beat by a mile.” I tell the three traitors.
“Fine.” Missy mumbles. “You won this round.”
“Arrrgggh!” Is screeched. Hmm, forgot she was there for a minute. “Isn’t anyone going to do anything about her attacking me?”
“I didn’t attack you.” Becca rolls her eyes. “If I did you’d currently be in the back of an ambulance on your way to the hospital. Make no mistake. That’s where you belong.”
“You can’t treat paying customers like this.” Karen huffs as
