a chance to get hungry again.” Then he looked back at me as he opened the door. “And I happen to know someone who will find a healthy snack to feed me when I get back if I’m hungry.”
Rolling my eyes, I shrugged. “Possibly. But what about the ride?”
He shook his head again. “Nope, the bus will be by in just a minute, and it’s really not too far to walk either. I’m going to save my rides for when the weather gets worse.”
Chuckling, I went back to my studying. “Deal.”
Finishing the chapter before Destin arrived was my goal and I barely made it by the time the nut came bursting in the door. “I was on time to all my classes this morning and I’m doing great this week.”
“I’m glad.” Putting away my books, I picked up my bag and rose from the couch. “I’ll be right back. I want to put this in my room before we start the movie.”
We’d been debating whether or not we wanted to go look for a few more things for the house or watch a movie, but with the pending conversation about Morgan coming soon, I had a feeling staying home was a better idea.
Destin was either going to have a lot of questions or he’d want to be little when Morgan got back, but either way I didn’t want to wander around home stores with that running through his mind.
“Leon!” Destin’s excited voice had me chuckling.
Of course I had to play it straight against his excitement. “Yes?”
My boring response had a very dramatic huff coming from the living room. As I walked out, he was standing by the toys giving me a dirty look. “You have toys and didn’t tell me.”
I shook my head, barely giving him a grin. “No, I do not have toys.”
“Then who has toys?” The words were barely out of his mouth before he gave me a wide-eyed smile and kept going. “Morgan has toys. Is he a little? When did you know? Why didn’t you tell me? What kind of little is he? Is he energetic too or is he quiet?”
The rush of questions could’ve continued forever, so I interrupted quietly. “It’s not my place to tell about his personal life. But we discussed it after he told me last weekend and he didn’t want to hide it when you came over. So that’s why the toys are out. I wasn’t going to say anything until he was comfortable with it.”
Destin bounced around the living room looking longingly at the toys. “And?”
Chuckling, I shrugged. “He’s not a brat, but I wouldn’t describe him as quiet.”
“What does he like to do besides trains?” Destin started inching closer to the toys again, so I cleared my throat.
“You can ask him that later when he comes back from class, and don’t touch his toys without his permission.” I shouldn’t have had to say that, but the look on Destin’s face said the reminder was a good idea.
“I know.” But the way he sighed said he was going to figure out a way around that.
Distracting him was the best option, so I went back over to the couch and sat down. “It was your turn to pick the movie. What are we watching?”
He snorted and moved over to flop down on the other end of the couch. “You’re smart enough to know that I’m not going to talk about movies right now.”
Great.
Destin looked around the room like he was a spy in a bad B movie. “He’s not here?”
I shook my head. “Nope, it’ll probably be a while before he comes back.”
“Good.” Destin rubbed his hands together and leaned back against the arm of the couch. “So, what do you think about living with a little?”
It wasn’t a bad place to start, so I shrugged. “Not wildly different than living with you before you figured out you were little. He’s just more relaxed and a lot less outrageous.”
Destin laughed. “Sounds more your style.”
I wasn’t sure what that meant, so I ignored it. “But overall, it explains a few things I didn’t realize about you when we were roommates. He has a very different personality, though.”
Destin spread his arms out. “Because no one is as awesome as me.”
That was an understatement.
“I think it’s working out just fine, however.” I would’ve left the conversation at that, but Destin wasn’t anywhere near ready to change topics.
“But how does it feel to you?” He leaned forward like getting closer would make it easier for
