the middle. Azriel’s grin makes me take a step backwards but he grabs me, faster than I’ve ever seen a creature move, and throws me backwards. I crash into the brick wall, my head bounces off it so hard I have spots in my vision and struggle to stay conscious. I feel myself losing the fight as Azriel crouches down in front of me, lifting a lock of hair that has fallen from my wrap. He leans in, so close I can feel his breath on my skin. He takes in a deep breath, and I can practically feel his smile.
“Oh yes little Witch. We are going to have a lot of fun.”
Chapter Fifteen
Remy
I step forward as the woman moves towards me, creating a block between her and my guys, just in case she is the psychotic bitch Callie warned us about.
“That would be me,” I tell her, holding my head high, wearing my best resting bitch face. “Who are you?” I look her up and down, taking in the metal bands decorating her arms, the black billowing dress, and her bare feet on the grass beneath us.
“Oh sweetie, please. You already know who I am.” She smirks at me, and I feel the guys draw in closer at my back. “What a pretty little pack you bring with you, I bet they're delicious.”
“They're not yours to fucking touch,” I snarl, and I feel a hand on my shoulder reminding me that she's a higher Demon, but fuck this bitch.
“We shall see about that. Come,” she says and turns from us, walking towards the small town I can just about make out in the distance.
This entire place is fucking weird.
“We don't have to follow her,” Creek says quietly, and I hear her laugh in the distance.
“If you think you can survive out here alone at night, you're welcome to. It won't be me that gets to enjoy the feast of you all if you do though.” I feel my anger ripple through me and I make a start towards her, but steady hands hold me in place.
“Angel, this is not the time to lose your shit on us,” Levi says quietly, and I can almost feel his strain from holding me in place, so I stop struggling, I don't want his weaker state broadcasted, especially not here.
“I am so sick of this. Demons fucking running us in circles. I just want to get Fallon, deal with Archer and move the fuck on,” I hiss.
“Do you think this level could be affecting your emotions, mon amour?” Kain asks softly, and while I know deep down it’s possible, especially since I haven't felt this sort of rage in a while, I also think it could just be her. Fucking Demons.
“Are you coming?” She calls back over her shoulder and I growl.
“Come on, princess. Let’s just follow her, it’s better than being stuck here. Hopefully we won't be here too long, and we will find Fallon real soon.” Roman says with a small smile. If he's being reasonable, I know I'm losing my mind.
“Fine, let’s go. The sooner we deal with her, the sooner we get gone from here,” I say, trying to tamper down the rage that is fizzing through my entire body, so at odds with our serene surroundings.
We start to follow her, without getting too close. The sounds of the town get louder as we get closer, but it’s still quieter than I'd have expected. Luna walks through the center of the town, and leads us through the busy streets. Women are moving between stores, restaurants, and their homes, to the other side of the town where a large plantation style house is situated, built of black stone, dark and looming over the town.
The metal gates swing open as she approaches, and remain open until we cross the threshold, and then they close behind us. A cold wind sweeps across the grounds, and Luna laughs and she climbs the steps to the monstrosity of a house. “Welcome to Chateaux Mortis.”
“Did she actually just call this place Castle Death?” Kain says, rolling his eyes. “How very cliché, and yet, stunted, who mixes French with Latin.”
I try not to laugh, but a small burst breaks through and Roman snickers. “This bitch really is as crazy as Callie suggested.”
“Maybe she is, but she might be our only way out of this place unless another Demon takes pity on us,” Levi says cautiously.
She swings open the giant black carved doors to the house and
