home.
Throughout the week I’ve been busy with classes which I mostly took online this time and painting, so there wasn’t much time for me to get out of the apartment.
I let Evie do all the grocery shopping, as she wasn’t much interested in focusing on college.
Plus, she made sure we actually got the building Michail and Morgana promised us, and Evie has been emailing back and forth with them all week long.
It still wasn’t getting into my head that we could soon move all of our canvases and material in there, though, I probably wouldn’t go there to paint just yet.
Evie had planned parties already, and I didn’t want anyone to destroy my art.
After packing all my things into my backpack, I went into the bathroom to brush my hair and make sure I wasn’t looking too homeless, and once I adjusted my loungewear, I headed to the door to head downstairs.
Hopefully they were home.
As I got to their door, I rang the bell and waited, my heart suddenly picking up speed and making me nervous.
It’s only been a week, but I missed Wells close to me.
The door swung open and a surprised, half-naked Wells stood in front of me. “Rooney, hey,” he said, smiling at me.
I couldn’t stop my eyes from wandering down his chest and muscular abdomen.
He must’ve been working out in the past few days.
“Hi,” I replied, feeling my cheeks suddenly heat up and my breathing hitch. “I, uh…are you free? Right now?”
His smile turned into a grin as he noticed my nervousness, then he stepped aside and nodded. “Come in. Did you have dinner yet?” he asked.
I shook my head and passed him to get inside. “No, I’m not very hungry, actually.”
Wells closed the door and turned to look at me, then he placed a hand on my lower back to walk me past the kitchen and into the living room.
“Why not? Did you have a late lunch?”
“Kinda. I’ve been up since five to get some studying done. Evie came home for a few hours and brought some snacks, and I’ve been eating those all day long.”
He motioned for me to sit down on the couch, and before he could reply, I frowned and spoke again. “Is Ira already asleep?” I asked.
“Uh, no. Ira’s spending the weekend with his grandmother. I was actually going to ask you if you’d like to spend some time with me the next two days.”
I smiled at him. “That’s exactly what I was hoping to do this weekend. I’d love to,” I told him.
The corners of his mouth turned up and his hand moved from my shoulder to the back of my head where he fisted my hair gently.
“Perfect. I have a few ideas. If I had known you were coming tonight, I’d have prepared something to eat. I’m not that hungry either, but if you want I can make us something light a little later tonight,” he suggested.
“Sounds good,” I told him, still smiling at him because it seemed as if I wasn’t able to get rid of my joy when he was around.
“Want something to drink?” he then asked, turning around and walking back to the kitchen.
“Please. Whatever you have is fine.”
He pulled out two glasses and grabbed a bottle of champagne out of the fridge, then he walked back to me and sat down on the couch.
“How was your week?” he asked, pouring the champagne into both glasses.
“Busy. I had a lot to do for college, but I finished everything I had to finish and now I’m free the whole weekend.”
“Smart. Wish I had done it that way when I was in college. I pushed everything back until I had no other choice than to study on weekends,” he explained, chuckling.
“But you still attended parties,” I guessed.
He laughed and nodded. “Of course. Couldn’t miss any of them. I still don’t know how I managed to graduate, but I’m glad I did.”
He put the bottle onto the coffee table and picked up the glasses to hand me one.
He was still shirtless, and it didn’t bother me at all, but I wished my eyes wouldn’t move to his chest all the damn time.
“I’m happy you’re here tonight,” he said, touching his glass to mine.
“Me too.”
We both took a few sips, and when the sweet taste of the champagne hit my tongue, shivers moved down my body.
In a good way, of course.
“Do you like it?” he asked as he saw the obvious bliss in my eyes.
“It’s delicious. Where did you get
