a lot of hiding places, and that meant the assassins needed to explore the entire house in the hopes of finding them, since they couldn’t use the security system. There was no way Win would allow anyone to leave until they found the person, and with the heat, that was bound to make some people unhappy, or rather, even more unhappy than they already were.
“We need to tell Win,” Dasha said. He was already moving back through the door, on his way to Win’s office.
He was right. They needed to tell Win and everyone else. This wasn’t the way Lawrence had hoped this vacation—if he could call this a vacation—would start, but they didn’t have a choice. They needed to find this person before leaving, and they needed to get rid of them, whoever they were, whatever their reason for being here.
Chapter Three
Sky screwed his eyes shut as Ulric’s mouth traveled down his chest. Both of them were sweaty, probably too much to be licking each other, but Sky wouldn’t have stopped his mate for anything in the world. He didn’t want to. He never wanted to. He didn’t care how hot they felt, not when they were together like this.
Ulric’s mouth wrapped around the head of Sky’s cock. He sucked, and Sky’s back arched. He reached down and buried his fingers into Ulric’s hair, trying to be gentle as he pulled.
But Ulric sucked harder.
Sky couldn’t help but smile as his mate blew him. This was exactly the kind of life he’d dreamt about when he’d been in that lab, the kind of life he never thought he’d have. But he did, and for the first time since he could remember, he was happy.
Of course, he would be happier if the AC worked, but in the meantime, this was good. Besides, of everyone in the house, he was the one most comfortable with warmth. He was the guy who caught fire when he wasn’t careful, after all.
Ulric’s fingertips traveled down Sky’s thigh and between his legs. There was no way Sky could open his legs even more without hurting himself or feeling ridiculous, but Ulric didn’t need him to. The man could play Sky’s body like an instrument, and he didn’t waste one opportunity to do it.
“Almost there,” Sky said with a groan.
Ulric didn’t stop. He didn’t have to. At one time, Sky would have pushed him away, told him to be careful, but not anymore. It didn’t matter if Sky set the bed on fire, not when Ulric was safe against his ability. Sky always did his best to stay in control, but he loved that Ulric was safe from his fire and what it implied. They were mates. They were bonded. They were one, and in relation to Sky’s ability, Ulric was an extension of Sky’s body. It was especially touching when they were having sex, and Sky didn’t even try to stop it when pleasure exploded in his groin and he felt his fire run along his skin.
He opened his eyes. His limbs were on fire, and so was Ulric. The fire covered him and danced on his skin, and for a second, Sky was lost. Then he came down his mate’s throat, and he had to close his eyes.
Ulric popped off Sky’s cock and chuckled, his voice rough. “I thought we’d decided you were going to try not to set fire to the sheets?”
Sky shrugged. He felt sated, and he never wanted to open his eyes. He did, though. Ulric had come earlier in the shower, but he’d kept Sky on edge until now. “Maybe you should have blown me in the shower like I did to you. I wouldn’t have burned anything there.”
Ulric grinned. “But I love seeing you stretched out on our bed.”
Our bed. That was what Sky’s life was now, and he was blissfully happy.
Even without AC.
Sky opened his arms, and Ulric came closer. He was about to press his body against Sky’s when yelling outside their door made both of them look toward the hallway, even though they couldn’t actually see anything from the bedroom. “What do you think it is?” Sky asked. It wouldn’t be the first time people fought in the house, not since the heatwave had started.
Sky got it. He hated being hot and sweaty, but he’d gotten used to the fact that this was his life now. He’d had to.
He caught fire when he got horny, for fuck’s sake.
Ulric shrugged and rolled off Sky. “I don’t know. Let’s
