these creatures ever heard of Icarus and the sun? Did they want to fall in a blaze of glory? He got the sacrifice bit and all, but he’d rather have his mate come down and take him in his arms. He didn’t even care about everyone who’d arrived to see them take their vows.
Had his father been proud? Yes. And Kindling had to admit to himself that it did matter. He’d found his place here and never wanted to leave. It turned out he had a skill set that was valued and he’d been able to put his counseling degree to work. People needed him here. And for that, he was grateful.
His mother had been happy as well. Her tears of joy made him blush, and he’d promised to visit when he could.
They’d both arrived for the wedding, but Kindling’s thoughts weren’t on them now.
He just wanted Haru.
“Come on, Haru. Enough is enough already. I’m waiting. We gots things to do,” he shouted. He’d been aching to get Haru off this mountain. His mate needed to see life beyond the veil, and Kindling wanted to be the one who showed it to him.
He felt the push against his mind.
Warugaki, Haru sent affectionately.
Kindling laughed.
He’d asked both Trey and Eric, but neither of them shared a mind link with their goblins. Perhaps it was because of Haru’s status? It was a quandary for another time. For now, Kindling used it shamelessly as he sent his goblin images of himself bent over a bridge, completely naked and begging.
He felt his mate’s growl and welcomed the need that flowed back to him through their connection.
Horny? He sent back. Come and get it.
And suddenly Haru was there, his arms open, his face bright from the glare of the sun.
“Come on, giant. Let’s get hitched. Show everyone how I won the prize and bagged myself a High Lord.”
Everyone was waiting. Calyx and Trey, Dimitri and Eric, Kindling’s parents, and the people of the sanctuary. Dimitri’s guards flew above the festival, keeping watch. Eric’s militia stood their ground, ready and able, each and every one. They were here to celebrate the renewal of the sun, and to give thanks for its many blessings. Most of all, they were all here for the joining of the High Lord and his wolf.
Kindling was home.
Haru looked at him, then kissed him until they were both gasping for air. “No, let them see how a wolf showed a High Lord that he was worthy of love.”
Kindling smiled at him. “Of course you were, giant. You just needed to meet someone willing to see beyond the veil and straight into your heart. You needed me.”
About Deja Black
Deja Black had fantasies of men loving men, men who felt strongly, loved hard, and needed a hero. Then one great day she came across a book and discovered the world of m/m writing, encountered others who shared her obsession as much as she did, and found a world where she could not only be accepted for the lives and loves she envisioned, but she could create them too. So why not? Why not take the stories she would write and throw away as a teenager, grow them, dream them, and make them a reality where she could let them live their story, and make them real for someone else? And she did. Now, with the support of her hubby and some intense time management, she is learning to balance her family of two energetic children at home, along with the many students she teaches every day as well as her passion for writing what she loves to read.
Deja is always interested in connecting to new people who also share her love, so please feel free to contact her at:

Red Run Royal
By
Lynn Michaels
The deer are getting ready to celebrate Litha, the summer solstice. It’s a time to honor the space between earth and the heavens and worship the sun in all its glory. But this year there’s a lot more to celebrate.
The hinds are pregnant, as well as Rory, the herd is growing, and the wolf threat is in decline. But there’s one member of the herd who’s not happy.
The prince, Finley, is all grown up but left without a mate.
Dedication
Here’s to everyone who stuck it out with Donner, Rory, and the red deer herd.
Chapter One: Finley
Finley splashed down in the center of the pond to cool off from the summer heat. It was getting hotter by the day. He flicked water from
