the crowd.” She grins as I lean down and kiss her.
“I missed you, Mrs. Warren,” I say against her lips. She giggles and my grin grows. I love seeing my girl happy.
“I told them I needed to get back to my husband.” She winks as she points over her shoulder to Stacy, Cassidy and her cousin, Lauren.
“So, wife of mine, when do I get this big gift you’ve been going on about all week?” I ask.
“Hmmm, not sure when I’ll give you the big reveal. Soon though, you just need to be patient.”
Patience I can do. Now that she’s my wife, I can rest easily. She’s all I want; anything else is just icing on the cake. As soon as she said yes, I was insistent that we not have a long engagement. I needed her to have my last name. Luckily, she agreed that she was ready to start our future together. Something about a talk she had with her gran and living life to the fullest. I didn’t question her. She was on board and here we are, three months later, and it’s official.
“Looks like your girls got my boys by the tail.” I tilt my head to where the wedding party sits. Cole is sitting next to Stacy and is hanging on every word that leaves her lips. Tristan and Lauren are sitting with their heads close together talking between themselves. Gavin and Cassidy are actually holding hands under the table. It’s hard to really tell unless you are standing right where I am.
“Looks like you were the first to fall but not the last,” Logan tells me.
“Good things are coming our way. The guys and are I excited about starting the label, and moving on to our next adventure. I’m looking forward to finding new talent and guiding them through the process.” I pull her close. “We get to start our future, our family,” I say softly. I can’t wait to see her carrying our baby. Never thought I would find love and happiness in my career. Logan has given me more than I could have ever dreamed for.
“I’m so proud of you.” She smiles up at me.
Leaning down, I whisper, “I love you, Mrs. Warren,” in her ear.
Epilogue Logan
Logan
I’ll never get tired of hearing him say that. I find myself smiling just at the thought of him saying those three little words to me. He’s been asking me about his gift and I want to give it to him. I just can’t figure out the right time. After his little speech, I know that the time is now.
“Take a walk with me, Mr. Warren.”
He nods, and turns us toward the terrace. It’s chilly but I only need a minute.
As soon as he shuts the doors, the noise of the reception filled with family and friends fades away. It’s just the two of us with a mountain view of the sunset.
Perfect.
Placing my hands on the railing, I take a deep breath. Kacen steps in behind me and wraps me in his arms.
It’s now or never.
Turning in his arms, I place my hand on his cheek. “I want to give you your gift now, is that okay?”
He looks confused, considering there is no gift in sight. “Whenever you’re ready,” he replies.
“Close your eyes,” I tell him; my voice is soft. He closes them without question. Leaning up on my tiptoes, I whisper in his ear, “You’re going to be a daddy.”
His eyes pop open as does his mouth. “Repeat that,” he demands.
I giggle. I can see the hope behind those ocean blue eyes. “I said you’re going to be a daddy,” I repeat louder this time.
“WOO HOO!” he yells, picking me up and crashing his lips to mine.
When we finally come up for air, he asks, “When? How? I’m so fucking stoked!”
I knew this would be his reaction. He’s always said he wants a family. “In about seven and a half months and apparently, I’m the .01 percent that can get pregnant on birth control,” I explain as my doctor did to me last week.
He drops to his knees and places a kiss against my belly. Looking up, he has tears in his eyes. “I love you so fucking much, Logan. Both of you,” he says emphatically as his big hands cover where he just placed his lips.
I smile. I can’t speak for the tears that are threatening to fall.
Kacen Michael Warren is not who I expected him to be. He’s so much more. I can’t wait
