town.
Fuse and his wife, Brittany, walked up to them, both kissing Katrina’s cheeks before he pulled Gunner into a bro hug. “Happy for you two.”
“I had no idea you were seeing anyone, Gunner.” Brittany sent a bright smile to Katrina.
Resting an arm over her shoulders, Gunner grinned. “My best kept secret.”
“Only because I was in San Diego, then at WETC for training.” Fuse sipped his drink, gaze stopping on two large men across the grassy expanse. “Did you see your father and Einstein over there?” Fuse, as well as all the Brethren, knew Katrina’s connection to Zeus. Einstein being Chaos’s father continued to be a well-guarded secret, with only a few knowing of their link.
“Yes, I saw them after the ceremony. Zeus asked my mother if he and Einstein could attend from a distance.”
Fuse didn’t ask how having the daughter of the national president of the Dark Disciples as part of the Eternal Brethren family would impact their mission. A difficult subject Wrath would open once he and Grayson reviewed all possibilities.
“You are such a beautiful bride, Kat.” Dani gave her a warm hug, then turned to Gunner. “Great choice.”
“Now I know why my dad always called Mom his better half.” Gunner bent to press a kiss to Katrina’s temple.
Ghost stood next to his wife, pulling a flask from his inside pocket, handing it to Gunner. “Just a couple swallows. I hear you’re driving to a cabin for your honeymoon.”
Tipping up the flask, he took a sip. “Wow. That’s good stuff.” Taking one more, he handed it back to Ghost as Dani and Katrina talked a couple feet away.
“Best single malt out there.”
“Teri’s boss, Brodie Jurgensen, has a place in the White Mountains. He calls it a cabin, but the pictures Teri saw are of a place much grander.”
“Typical Jurgensen. Humble to the core.” Slipping the flask away, he nodded toward where Teri spoke with Zeus and Einstein. “You don’t think she’d consider going back to him, do you?”
Gunner watched them. Her face was drawn, lines of worry around her eyes. “I’d be surprised. Teri was a devoted wife. Zeus betrayed her by more than jst being with other women.”
“Hope so. She’s a nice lady. Deserves much better than she got from him.”
Gunner glanced around before lowering his voice. “I agree. Still, she chose to marry into an outlaw MC. It’s a tough life. To be honest, I’m glad he screwed it all up. I’d have never met Kat if they’d stayed with Zeus.”
His gaze moved across the crowd, landing where Fargo stood with some of the Brethren. “We’re down to one of the Posse left.”
Ghost threw back his head and laughed. “If you think Fargo’s going to join the ranks of the married anytime soon, you’re certifiable. Hell, I can’t recall the last time he had a steady woman in his life.”
“He’s a quiet man, who enjoys time alone. Reads a lot when not training or on a mission. One of the steadiest men in the Brethren.”
“Agreed.”
“What are you two talking about?” Katrina slipped her arm through Gunner’s, leaning up to kiss him.
Dani did the same with Ghost, following his gaze. “Tessa told me she thinks Fargo’s met someone.”
“To hell you say.” Ghost shot a look at Gunner, who shrugged.
“She’s a friend of Tessa’s assistant, Val Zoeller,” Dani added.
“Janie Maas’s niece?” Katrina asked.
“The same. Anyway, I guess Val invited her to Robbie’s for dinner with the girls and she met Fargo. From what Tess said, she’s the exact opposite of Val. Quiet, unassuming. Teaches elementary school. Anyway, Tess said they hit it off.”
Ghost settled an arm over Dani’s shoulders. “Sounds perfect for Fargo.”
Gunner pulled Katrina against his side, warmth flowing through him, knowing he’d found the love of his life. Holding up his drink, a grin curved the corners of his mouth.
“To our man, Fargo. May he have a bright future.”
