them and that panic, that blind fear penetrated my chest and I found myself taking a step back because of it before asking him in a dangerous tone ,
“Where is she?!”
“That is whit a'm 'ere tae tell ye, yer brother is innocent!” I looked down at him just at the time that he was getting up to his feet and snapped,
“Of course I fucking am, now answer him, where is she!”
“She's wi' th' King o' th' Dragon Lands, a city they call…”
“Calidad? That’s impossible… how the fuck is she there!” Carn’reau snapped and it was the first time I had heard him really lose his patience, as it was clear he knew of this place.
“You know of this city?” I asked my commander. He nodded and told me,
“My brother’s land.” At this I snarled before turning back to Trice and snapped,
“And would you like to explain to me, shifter, just how my Queen ended up in the realm of fucking Fae?!” This was half asked by my demon side and came out as a warped version of my voice, one that sounded as if it had first been put through a fucking cheese grater!
Trice took one look around and I knew without being told that he didn't trust anyone to overhear what he wanted to tell me next. So, I calmed my demon enough to make the right decision and ordered,
“Nero, go cast a barrier at my doors. As for all of you, in my office, now!” I then let them all proceed me before offering a hand to my brother, one he knocked away and said,
“You can cut that shit right now, we have more important things to focus on than what passed between us.” I dipped my head to tell him that I understood and watched as I felt the pieces of my liquefied armour return back to me, making me shudder as it remoulded itself to my form. Then I felt my brother clasp a hand to my shoulder and tell me,
“Now, let's concentrate on getting back your girl before you fuck this up again!” Then he walked past me, and I couldn't help but grin at his sentiment.
“Oh, I will get her back alright, even if I have to burn a realm to the ground,” I said to myself before turning on a heel and marching to my office to find out exactly what fucked up shit my little Princess had got herself into this time.
Gods have mercy on my ragged soul.
“Fucking Fae fairy bastards!” I snarled before striding through the doors and because we needed the privacy, I refrained from ripping them from their heavy hinges in my anger.
“Explain!” I ordered as Trice gritted his teeth and for once, I knew I wasn't the cause but instead, Amelia was.
“We git tae th' portal.”
“Aye, bit we wur double crossed,” Gryph added as he too now was next to his brother, and both of them were looking grim… not exactly a good sign.
“We found the portal master with a hex and believed it to be the work of…” Carn’reau said, informing of them of what we already knew.
“The witch, aye, 'twas. she tried tae snatch Amelia bit I saved her 'n' pulled her thro' th' portal, bit I hate tae tell ye this bit th' witch git th' Eye instead.”
“I don't give a fuck about the Eye, all I care about is that Amelia is safe!” I snapped making everyone in the room look to me with their eyes widened by my admission. Because the witch now had one of the most powerful weapons in her grasp. But I was just thankful that what the Eye had shown me, I now knew that no one but myself and Amelia had the power to touch it and to use its power. This was no doubt the reason the witch wanted Amelia in the first place, for it was not just her blood that she needed to command the Tree of Souls… I knew that now.
“Then a'm happy tae report that whin we left she wis indeed safe,” Gryph said making me snarl my anger his way.
“And would you now like to explain to me why you fucking left her there in the first place!?”
“Because we dinnae had a choice 'n' th' only one o' us that wis allowed tae be left wi' her wis Vern.” This came from Trice this time.
“Aye, th’ posh Eejit.” I knew by that quip I could only assume that it meant that something
