thing with Fiona, I had no idea I’d be seeing Will Creston again. The man hasn’t been on my radar for years. If he was ever on my mind, it was in a fleeting thought when I thought about my school years. I never thought about the man he had become.
And what a fucking man did that boy become.
I also wasn’t so clueless as to realize that I was side-stepping him because I wasn’t sure if he and Damien were still the enemy or not. If Fiona ended up murdering Damien in his sleep, it would be totally inappropriate for me to date his best friend. There was such thing as proper friend etiquette.
I side-eyed Fiona as she was fixing her hair and makeup and blurted out, “I’m lacking some serious willpower, Fee. I never expected to see Will here, and I sure as hell never expected him to turn out to look like that.”
Fiona laughed and turned towards me. “He does clean up nicely,” she grinned.
I turned and leaned up against the sink counter. “How horrible a best friend would I be if I went back to his hotel with him tonight?”
Fiona’s pretty head reared back in surprise. She blinked her pretty eyes at me and said, “Are you serious?”
I was officially the worst best friend ever.
“I’m sorry, Fee,” I mumbled. “I won’t-”
Fiona surprised me with a laugh. “Oh, God, Vicky,” she chuckled, “I didn’t mean it like that.” She shook her head. “I meant...do you seriously want to sleep with Will Creston? If memory serves me correctly, you hated him in school just about as much as I hated Damien.”
I shrugged a shoulder and turned back around to face the mirror. “I did,” I agreed. “He still kind of gets on my nerves. But he’s hot as hell, and it’s been awhile.”
“Vee, I don’t care if you use Will as your own personal blow-up doll tonight,” she chuckled. “I really don’t. You and Will have nothing to do with what Damien’s doing.”
“Speaking of, how are things going?”
Fiona gave herself a long, quiet stare in the mirror and let out a deep breath. “I have no idea,” she admitted, and my heart hurt for her.
I hooked my arm in hers. “Come on,” I said, “let’s finish this night out like champs.”
She smiled, and we walked out of the bathroom and onto a scene that gave me flashbacks to a time when Damien and Will were always surrounded by pussy. It took me back to some pretty vicious feelings I hadn't realized I still had. Maybe seeing Will and Damien together took me back to a time when Ben Lester cheated on me and the entire school knew it. Maybe seeing them together took me back to a time when Fiona would leave the room because Damien was draped in his latest teenage slut.
Whatever it was, I saw red.
Damien currently had a tall, built blonde pressed up against him whispering in his ear. We stood there watching her pat him on the chest like a good little boy, and then we were walking towards them.
I threw a nod towards the blonde walking away and said, “If you hurry, you can still get at that, Will. My tits are natural and normal sized, so I can’t, nor would I, compete with that.”
Will grabbed me by my arm and yanked me forwards, surprising the shit out of me. “Don’t get it twisted, Stems,” he snarled down at me. “If I wanted that, I’d have that. She’s not that difficult to get.” I scoffed because that was probably true. “I’m here with you, and I haven’t said or done anything to give you the impression that I want to be here with anyone else. So, knock your shit off, now.”
I yanked my arm out of his hold and, God as my witness, I wanted to slap the shit out of him and spread my legs for him all at the same time. A grownup Will Creston was something else.
Instead, I looked over at Fiona, and said, “I need a drink and not a classy glass of sophistication you got these servers offering. I’m going to the bar and I’m going to get a real drink. You coming, Fee?”
Fiona laughed, and I wonder if Damien’s finally made her crazy. “Of course.” She looked over at Damien and added, “I’m just going to make sure she doesn’t do anything stupid. You guys go mingle and make your millions.” She walked to stand next to me.
