from the puddle.
“Thank you,” he murmurs to me. “Oh, thank you, Anna. I’m sorry for hurting you but I knew you could take it. Thank you, baby. You can’t know what that felt like for me.”
I smile smugly to myself, not giving him an answer that he doesn’t require anyway. He has no idea what that felt like for me.
If he thinks this won’t happen again, he is sorely mistaken.
I cuddle into him, giving him the comfort he needs from me, assuring him that I’m okay after the roughest sex I’ve ever engaged in.
My cunt has already healed, so when I roll us over, I finally get the chance to take him the way I want to. I ride him hard, flicking my fingers out to open the cages of the panting Hellhounds.
They descend on us in a pack of fur and fangs as I laugh with delight at how this afternoon has turned out.
Chapter 15
Sid
I curl up on the floor even more if that’s possible. “Get out of my head,” I mutter to her.
“No can do, baby,” Leviathan purrs. “I am going to haunt you until you get me the fuck out of here.”
“I can’t do that. Leave me alone.”
“Nope. I am staying right here. I’m bored and you are so easy to wind up.”
“Please,” I whimper, clutching at my head.
“Oh, baby. You can’t get rid of me. You are made from me. We are one and the same.”
“I am nothing like you. I never was,” I whisper.
“Keep telling yourself that, lover. Also, this whole wounded bird thing you’ve got going on with Annabelle is a treat. She is falling for it hook, line and sinker. This can work to my advantage.”
“Go away,” I moan. She is making my head ache with her incessant babbling. This has been going on since I left Razor’s body and the safety of the fire cube. She has latched onto me and she won’t let me go. “What do you want from me?” I ask her desperately.
“I want you to convince Annabelle to set me free, obviously,” she scoffs.
“She won’t. I can’t help you.”
“Convince her or I will be here tormenting you until the end of time. Every time you look at her knowing how insecure you feel about her, I will be here to remind you how worthless you are. She will never love you, Sid. You are a hideous monster. You tortured her in her sleep. Do you really think that she can ever love you? She is using you, you pathetic little freak.”
I whimper as everything she says, I know is true. “Please,” I whisper. “Please stop it. She cares about me.”
“Aww, baby. You are so deluded. She doesn’t care about you, only what you can do for her. Look at the other men she is with! Do you think you can compare to them? Live up to the hot alpha males she fucks at every opportunity? What do you think she is going to do when you bed her? You will fall woefully short and she will leave you because you’ll have served your purpose and the pity fuck she owes you will be over with.”
“No! She doesn’t pity me. She doesn’t!” I try to convince myself that Annabelle isn’t like that, but the doubts, they are there, they are real and having Leviathan scream my weaknesses at me every second of every day will only make them stronger.
“Pathetic and deluded.”
“Shut. Up,” I grit out and turn over on the floor, but no amount of fidgeting will get her out of my head.
“You know how,” she replies in a steady voice.
There’s a knock at the door. “Sid?”
I sit up and look over the bed at the door. “Annabelle?” I mutter.
“Sid?” The door opens a crack. “Are you in here?”
“Yes,” I say quietly. I’m hurt by the way she treated me earlier. I understand her urgency, but I had something to tell her and she brushed me off.
“May I come in?” she asks, poking her head around the door.
“Okay,” I say, staying where I am on the floor, with the bed in between us.
“That’s pity on her face.”
“I’m sorry for earlier,” Annabelle says, biting her lip. “I was distraught, frantic and I felt helpless. I needed a minute to think clearly and I knew you could tell Aleister to hold on while I found a fix. I shouldn’t have talked to you the way I did. I owe you everything for what you did for Aleister, and I was a
