is holy, I will skin the pair of you,” Everly scolds them. “If you want to get the testosterone show on, take it outside!”
The tension in the room grows as they stare each other out, neither willing to let it go first.
“This is ridiculous,” I utter.
“Are you telling me you don’t want to know?” Roman turns to look at me, and I see the smug smirk on Levi’s face and roll my eyes.
“Of course I do, but I am perfectly capable of asking myself. If it was something important, he’d have told me over the last few days. Chances are he can’t tell me until I remember, but he offered to unlock all of my memories anyway, so it can’t be sinister. Calm your shit down.” I sigh but Creek stiffens behind me.
“You can do that?” Creek looks to Levi who nods.
“I can. If Remy asks it of me, I’d do it for you too.”
“Only if she asks?” he questions.
“Only if she asks,” Levi confirms, and I groan.
“Awesome, thanks for that, Levi,” I reply.
“Anytime, Angel.”
“Did you take him up on his offer, mon amour?” Kain asks hesitantly.
“Not yet.” I shake my head, and Creek looks at me like I have two heads.
“Why wouldn’t you want to know?” he asks, like it wouldn’t occur to him that some things might be left forgotten.
“Not everything is worth remembering,” Levi says for me. “Sometimes there are things best forgotten.”
Silence smothers the room at his words. “So, you do not wish to know why you wear his mark?” Roman asks me directly.
“I’m sure I’ll find out when I’m meant to.”
“I already have to share you with these two. It is unfair to ask us to share you further,” Roman utters.
“I don’t remember asking,” I snark back at him.
“She is bound to me, get used to it, pup,” Levi bites out, and I pinch the bridge of my nose at the headache that threatens.
“She loves you, Roman. You should not fear others in her life. Her heart is big enough for all of us.” Kain tries to dial down the situation a bit, but my frustration just grows, despite his words.
“Again, don’t remember asking you guys to let Levi in on whatever this is.”
“I’m in it, Angel. Whether you remember it or not. Whether they knew it or not, I was in each and every life you’ve lived. We kept our secret from everyone, for your own safety as well as theirs. And while when you were with them, I stepped aside, I was still there, like I said I always would be. We are bound.” I sigh at Levi’s declaration as I feel Roman get riled even further.
“I don’t care who else you love, Remy. As long as you love me too. Even if I have to share you with all of them. I am happy knowing I own a piece of your heart too. Always and forever,” Creek declares and my breath whooshes from my lungs. I rock back and stumble as the memory hits me.
“Holy shit.” I go wide eyed as Creek catches me. I look up at him, and I know he already knows. “Holy shit. We were married.”
I sit in the small room, and stare at my reflection. I barely recognize myself. Most days, black is my color of choice, no makeup, my hair pulled back out of my face. I’m not exactly the most feminine woman in the world, skirts, make up, high heels are not really my thing.
Except today, I sit here in white lace, my long dark hair is in curls that cover my back in waves, with a crown of daisies woven through it. My eyes are rimmed with kohl, and my lips a subtle pink. The violet of my eyes practically glows against the dark liner.
“Oh Remy, you look beautiful.” I turn to my mother, dressed in a royal blue. Her eyes are glassy as she clutches a tissue. I know these won’t be her last tears of the day.
“Thank you, Mom.” I smile at her. She comes closer and hugs me tight. “I never thought I’d see the day.”
“Thanks Mom.” I roll my eyes, and she laughs.
“Oh, you know what I meant.” Her eyes sparkle, very much aware that I understood what she meant. “Love is love. You know I believe that to my very core.”
“I know Mom.”
“As long as you’re happy, Remy. Do not let any others tell you how to be. Always be true to yourself, it’s never led you down the
