into our dimension on their own, but it’ll give them another option. I’m sure every great mind is working on alternatives. Especially now that the Earth is so far gone.
Another thought crosses my mind, “You didn’t know how this was going to work, did you?”
“The infected here needed to be stopped, or the progression of the virus on the planet would have been fifty-three percent faster and much more devastating. It still can’t be stopped, but we’ve halted it on land for the moment.”
He didn’t answer the question. In other words, they took a gamble. If we all died, then we’d have been a casualty of the fight against the plague. Because that’s essentially what this is now. It’s going to wipe out life as we know it here. At least it’s not airborne like it’d be if the Wen were on the planet …
“Please let us know as close to the hour as possible.”
I feel a prickle on my skin at the static charge from his particle transfer technology, and lights flash over the surface of his skin. Totally technology based, their particle transfer is the closest thing I’ve ever seen to phasing. His hand raises in a signal of goodbye as his body fades from view.
Phasing to my dimension, I’m greeted with the loud cries of children laughing. I can hardly believe it due to the circumstances. Árni and Eva are bouncing on the bed, holding hands while the two other girls crouch on their knees, watching them with small smiles.
“What’s going on here?”
Lilibeth turns and jumps into my arms, wrapping her legs and arms around me. I’ve never felt anything more welcome as she crashes her lips to mine before pulling away much too soon.
“You made it home!” Her giggle lets me know she means to be funny, but the truth sends a shiver of excitement down my spine. I can’t wait until we can spend time together … here—without having to worry about all the extra drama in the Earth’s dimension.
“I did,” I whisper into her ear, inhaling her intoxicating scent. Her arms tighten, pulling me closer, and I can tell that my cock won’t be getting relief any time soon with the children behind me on the bed. “I have so much to tell you, too.”
CHAPTER TWENTY-NINE
- Nikon
Finally!
Later in the evening, last night we realized we couldn’t phase with our three little people any longer. The Ashen’s vibrational accelerator that allowed them to phase into our dimension lasted longer than even I imagined, but as soon as we started feeling any resistance, we stopped for fear of hurting them. Eva, of course, can still phase with us due to her family association with Lilibeth.
This evening, Lilibeth, Eva, and I have been in our dimension now for what Humans call hours. There’s no doubt Eva’s totally settled in. Even more so than Lilibeth, she’s been fascinated with the pod controls, using them to customize her room, which we just added on. It’s an addition she called special—just like her.
I pick up Lilibeth into my arms, one arm under her knees and the other wrapped around her back, and I stand from the small table in the food prep area. Lilibeth and Eva have already been discussing all the changes they’d like to make in the kitchen and eating area. They’re excited since I’ve told them they could do anything they want.
I could tell when I asked them what they thought of it and the layout earlier that they weren’t super impressed. The only reason I asked was to find out what I could do to make them feel more comfortable with it. Customizing our pods is as easy as making the adjustments on the controls. Eva compared it to a game one of her friends plays on the computer.
Moving into our bedroom, I gently place Lilibeth onto the edge of the mattress before taking a step back. “Undress for me, please, Lilibeth. I’ve been waiting for this all day. I want you to stretch out on your back in the middle of the bed so I can see all of you.”
“Mm, I see.” Lilibeth’s lips tilt into a smile as I kick off my boots. Her hands reach for her shirt, drawing it slowly over her head, while I quickly undress myself. I stare at her pale yellow bra, which cups her perfect globes. My hands itch to touch her, wanting to be the one giving them support.
Lowering my voice, I encourage her. “Strip everything for
