pieces and handed them out, the mood in the room lifts considerably. Someone turns the music back on and before long Casey and Andre are dancing like they think they’re alone.
Those two still have big honeymoon energy.
Mya and I are talking in the kitchen when Vin comes in. He’s looking at me in that way that promises dirty things later.
She elbows me. “I know that look. I’m getting out of the line of fire.” She goes to join her husband on the couch.
And then I’m in Vin’s arms.
My favorite place to be.
He kisses the top of my head. “When I told you to be sensitive, I must admit I wasn’t expecting a song and dance.”
“You know me. Never a dull moment.”
His eyes shine. “This may be a bit insensitive but how soon can we kick them out? I want to be alone with you.”
I splutter with laughter. “We invited them here!”
Then he licks his lips and all I can think of is that deliciously dirty mouth. It’s an actual ache that sets up camp right between my thighs.
“Vin? You have to stop looking at me like that,” I whisper.
But as usual, my man knows what I really need.
And delivers.
“Everybody get out!” Vin shouts, before walking to the front door and holding it open.
The music turns off abruptly as the others scramble to grab their things, looking around in confusion.
“Nice party,” Andre comments before Vin shoves him out the door.
“Get your shit and leave. My girl needs me to rock her world.”
I can still hear their laughter echoing down the hallway once he slams the door behind them.
“You are so damn crazy. But I love it.” I kiss his face, still laughing.
“I love you, too.” Vin leans his forehead against mine. “Ari, the things I feel for you, they’re so big. I can’t keep them inside.”
“You don’t have to keep anything locked up anymore. I love you.”
He takes my hand. “I know you don’t like to move too fast. And I know you hate all that fake romantic shit, anyway. So I’m not asking you to marry me.”
I gasp when he pulls a ring from his pocket.
His eyes hold mine. “You don’t have to call it an engagement ring. Just as long as you promise to love me, live with me, and cause trouble with me for the rest of our lives.”
I sniffle as I squeeze his hand. “The rest of our lives, huh? That’s a really long time.”
His eyes search mine worriedly.
“Don’t panic. This is me not asking you to marry me, remember?”
I leap into his arms, knowing he’ll always catch me. Then I whisper-yell against his lips.
“This is me not saying yes.”
I hope you enjoyed NEED ME!
