though I was curious to see what his apartment looked like too.
“Okay, so we’re meeting at your place tonight, Magnolia?” He pulled out his phone. “What time? I was hoping to hit the gym again tonight.”
“Twice in one day?” I raised an eyebrow.
“How do you think I stay so fit?” He grinned. “If any of you girls want to join, I have some passes.”
“No thanks,” we all chorused at the same time and laughed, but then an idea struck me and I changed my mind.
“Actually, maybe I could come?” I asked with a small smile. “I’ve been trying to lose a couple of pounds and work on my abs and ass.”
“Sure.” He nodded. “We can leave in fifteen minutes.”
“Okay. So what if we all meet at Magnolia’s at seven? We have a couple of drinks, and then we go to eat and then to dance the night away at Booty?”
“Sounds like a plan.” Magnolia grinned. “This will be fun.”
“Yeah.” Millie bobbed her head. “I hope we meet some nice men tonight.”
“Me too.” Olivia grinned. “And some good dancers.”
“Don’t worry, ladies, I will save you all a dance.” Tate grinned. “Asides from you, Magnolia, I’m not sure if Jagger would be happy knowing I was dancing with you.”
“Meh, he doesn’t own me.” She laughed and then her eyes narrowed as she looked at us. “And none of you guys better tell him that.” She giggled. “We’re wedding planning right now, and I need him to think that all of these expensive ideas are coming from him.”
“This is why I will never get married.” Tate laughed. “You women are way too manipulative.”
“That’s a bit general.” Millie shook her head as I glared at him. “All women are not manipulative, and Magnolia is only doing what she has to do to get the wedding of her dreams without a fight.”
“Exactly,” Olivia agreed. “All’s fair in love and war.”
“Or rather, all’s fair in the dream wedding of the year.” Magnolia smiled. “It’s fine. He can afford it.”
“No comment.” Tate smirked again. “I’m going to send one last email. Ladies, I’ll see you tonight. Jane, meet me by my office in 15 minutes.”
“Okay.” I nodded and then paused. “Oh wait, I don’t have any gym clothes.”
“No worries. We can pick some up on the way. It’s on Market Street right next to the mall, so you have plenty of options.”
“Okay,” I said again. “Thanks.” We all watched as he walked back to his office and then the other girls stared at me in disbelief.
“Why the hell are you going to the gym with him?” Millie looked confused. “I thought you couldn’t stand him.”
“I can’t stand him, but it gives me another opportunity to put a new note in his bag.”
“Ooh, smart.” Magnolia grinned and then looked at the other girls. “I’ll fill you guys in once they leave.”
“I need all the details.” Olivia looked eager. “I cannot wait to read what these notes are saying. Are they like sexts?”
“Hell no!” I laughed. “They are the furthest thing from sexts that you could imagine.”
“Aw, damn.” Olivia looked disappointed now. “Can you imagine how hot it would be to be sexting with Tate? Man, that guy is hot.”
“Do you like him?” I bit my lip, anxious to hear what she said.
“Oh hell, nah.” Olivia shook her head. “He’s hot, don’t get me wrong, but his personality? No thank you.” She shook her head. “He is too much work for someone like me.”
“He is such a jerk,” I agreed with a little sigh of relief. “No wonder he doesn’t want to get married. He knows no woman would want to put up with him for any amount of time. Could you imagine the strife his wife would go through having to deal with him every day?”
“Yeah, but could you also imagine the makeup sex?” Millie grinned. “Damn, it would be hot.”
“Maybe.” I shook my head, but I could feel myself blushing at the thought of fucking Tate after an argument.
“I don’t really want to think about it.” Birdy said, finally joining the conversation. “He just seems so demanding. I could only imagine what that would mean in the bedroom.”
“You’d be doing all the work.” Millie laughed. “But okay, Jane, you go have your fun with our big bad boss. I can’t wait to hear what happens.”
“What sucks is that we won’t get an update tonight.” Olivia made a face. “Now that the guys are joining.”
“It’s fine. I’ll send you guys an email tomorrow or a text or something.”
“Or
