how I could ever have gotten bored in my entire life. I never understood the definition of boredom until I arrived here. But as I ram my screwdriver against the door handle for what feels like the thousandth time, I realize that I’m going to perish from boredom. I decided to try my luck at fucking up the door handle, but that did nothing, so I tried prying, jamming, ramming, beating, anything to get the fucking door to open. But as the day wears on, I realize that I’m shit out of luck.
When I hear someone come near, I quickly stash the screwdriver before sitting on the floor and pretending like I’ve been the best prisoner known to mankind. When I notice it’s Shepherd, I realize my luck just keeps getting worse. He’s not easy to fuck with like Rod is.
He comes in and reaches for me.
“What?” I ask.
“Let’s go.”
I stare at him while wondering if just maybe it is nicer in this room. “Where?”
He ignores me.
“I asked where.”
“To Disney World,” he says as he tugs me to my feet.
“Really? Will you get me Mickey ears?”
“Yes. And if I strangle you with them first, it’s not my fault.”
“That doesn’t sound like it’s going with the Disney spirit.”
He doesn’t seem concerned at all as he pulls me to my feet and starts dragging me after him.
“I feel like we got off on the wrong foot. What if we reintroduce ourselves? My name is Killian and I would like to leave. Now you go.”
“My name is I Don’t Give a Fuck and no.”
“Huh. What’s your last name?”
“A Fuck.”
I grin at him as he gives me a little jerk of the arm when I stop moving. “Makes sense. Middle name is Give?”
“Yeah.”
“Alright, Mr. A Fuck. I would really, really appreciate it if you’d just look the other way as I trot out the door. I’m kind of annoying, right? Wouldn’t your life be better if I just… disappeared?”
“Killing you would also solve that,” he says as he heads for an open door.
I hesitate because I don’t like that idea. “True… but then you’d have to clean up blood.”
“I’d choke you so there’s nothing to clean up.”
This is not how I saw this going. “Okay, but I’d probably piss myself, so you’d have that to deal with. And a body.”
“Hmm…”
He seems to be thinking about this now. “I’m going to pass on both. Now get in there,” he says as he shoves me through the open door to where Tony is waiting. The moment he sees me, I know this isn’t going to go well.
To his left is the guy I shot and to his right is Delta, the silent one who just stalks around looking creepy and weird.
“Killian, Killian, Killian,” Tony says.
“Yeah?” I ask, a little warily. I’m sure he was doing it for dramatic effect, but I already know he’s an asshole who is probably going to murder me. Maybe I should have brought the screwdriver, but I didn’t want Shepherd patting me down and finding it on me. And am I really going to go up against three men with guns while I try to wield a tiny screwdriver when I don’t know how to fight at all?
“Does your father even care about you?” he asks, then laughs like it’s hilarious.
Maybe it is and I’m the only one who doesn’t get the joke.
“I take it he didn’t bite?” I ask.
“Let’s make a new video. But this one’s going to be even more fun!” Tony says as he pulls his camera out. “Tex, let’s show papa some blood.”
I stare at him because I really think what he just said made it even worse. “Uh-huh… okay. What if we just asked my father politely? That could be a good idea and a new style choice. Who knows, it might catch on.”
“Tex, please make him shut up,” Tony says.
I make a dash for the door, but Delta steps in front of it before I can, blocking my only exit. He throws me back into the middle where Tex grabs onto me. I understand that he might be a little upset after I shot him, but I honestly think the punch to my gut could have been a little gentler. It hits me so hard that all the air is torn from my body as I double over. He loops his hands over my neck and drives his knee into my stomach two times.
I fall into him and instead of just pleading for him to
