fortune to turn this shell of a building into something warm and welcoming where people wanted to hang out. But that seemed to be no problem for Jamie’s budget. More power to him. He was putting his money to good use, creating jobs and cleaning up blight on the street.
“Hi, guys,” I said, running to Benno and Chase, greeting each with big hugs and kisses.
“Senna has good news, guys,” Jamie said.
They just smiled. Did they already know?
I clapped my hands together gleefully. “Dr. Gilpin was awesome. So kind and understanding. I’m just blown away.” Once again, I tried not to choke up.
How did I get so freaking lucky?
“That’s awesome baby,” Chase said, picking me up and twirling me around.
“Oh, guys,” I said breathlessly. “I’m so happy. I feel like I won the lottery. And looks like Jamie is getting his full professorship.”
“Hey, if you’re still going to teach, who will run the bar?” I asked him.
He took a deep breath and looked at Chase. “I was kind of hoping my friend here might be interested.”
Chase broke out in a huge smile and high-fived Jamie. “Fuck yeah, I’d love to run your place.” He extended his hand, and Jamie shook on it. “And maybe our girl here would like to help me run it. On a part-time basis of course, as schoolwork allows.”
Holy crap. What a great idea. “Oh my god, I’d love to.”
“I’ll teach you to tend bar. If the business takes off, you’ll make way more money than you can at Club V,” he added.
Leaving Club V… that wouldn't be easy. But maybe it was time?
“Oh, hey,” Benno said. “I’m not supposed to say anything, but it will be public very soon anyway. Gilpin had Krishelle Abalone fired.”
Oh, thank god.
We headed toward Jamie’s building to see what the architect had in mind for him.
Chase slapped Benno on the back. “Oh no. What is the sexiest professor in the West going to do without his stalker?”
“Jesus Christ, Chase. Drop it,” Benno complained.
With Chase and Benno continuing to bicker, and Jamie laughing, I watched my three guys pass through the future bar’s door, opening a new chapter in all our lives.
Chapter 43
PROFESSOR BENJAMIN ADLER
I owed my friend Gilpin a bottle of scotch for getting Senna all straightened out. He’d intercepted her withdrawal papers before they’d been put in the system, so she didn’t even have to be reinstated.
I wasn’t sure what I would have done if she’d left the university. If she wasn’t going to be seeing us guys and wasn’t going to be taking classes, it would have been over between us. I just couldn’t imagine any scenario where I or any of the other guys would have a chance to see her on a regular basis.
In fact, we’d probably never see her.
But a week later, it was like nothing had ever happened besides a small hiccup that was quickly and cleanly overcome. She was back in her classes. Even better, she wanted to keep seeing us. It felt pretty fucking good.
In fact, in class, I could barely keep my hard dick under control just looking at her sitting there at her desk, paying close attention and taking notes like the little angel that she was. Every now and then she’d give me her little half smile, crossing and uncrossing her legs. Of course she was doing it just to torment me. She knew well the effect it was having because I avoided getting up from my desk the entire class.
I’d get even with her later, though.
She sauntered up to my desk after the classroom had cleared. “I noticed Ty was missing.”
I stuffed my things into my satchel and slung it over my shoulder. “Yeah. He won’t be back.”
Her eyes widened. “What happened? Can you tell me?”
“I’m not supposed to. But I will. He’s been expelled from the university for cheating and sexual harassment.”
The kid had thrown away opportunities other people would kill for.
“Wow. Just wow,” she said as I ushered her into the crowded hallway.
“Your statement put the seal on the deal. Apparently, he’d pulled some other shit. The athletic director wasn’t happy but acknowledged he couldn’t turn his back on it this time. It would blow up into a scandal of epic proportion if it got out that the university knew this was going on and did nothing.”
She nodded, absorbing the news.
“It’s a shame. He ruined a sweet ride. All he had to do was behave, but he couldn’t even manage that,” I said as we dodged people
