have a feeling that Leo will be sleeping off his choices from last night until at least the afternoon.
I leave him a note in case he wakes before I return and start toward the dorm. This outfit felt cute and sexy last night, but in the morning light, I probably look like Leo’s friend Stacy.
Relieved to be back at my room, I unlock the door and step in. Gasping, I drop the keys, covering my mouth. Quinn is lying naked in her bed with an equally bare Amos draped around her. His tight ass facing me.
Half-asleep and confused, he rolls away from Quinn and toward the door, giving me a full-frontal show.
“Oh my goodness!” I hold my hand out to block him and squeeze my eyes shut before quickly stepping back out into the hallway and closing the door.
Wow. I did not expect to come back to that.
There’s some commotion inside the room, and then Amos opens the door before closing it behind him.
“I’m sorry. We didn’t mean for you to come home to … that.” He rubs a hand along the back of his neck. “We just fell asleep after.”
I slide down the hallway wall and sit on the questionable carpeted floor. Amos sits beside me.
“You and Quinn had sex?” I ask.
“Yeah, we did.”
“You lost your virginity with my roommate?”
“Yes. Are you mad?”
“No,” I say hesitantly. “Shocked, I guess. I didn’t know you were into her.”
“Something changed last night. We were drinking and dancing and then kissing. Then, one thing led to another, you know?”
“Wow. Okay, well … are you dating now?”
“I don’t know. We haven’t talked about it. I guess we’ll do that today.”
“Right.” I nod. “I’ll just grab a change of clothes and get out of here, so you two can talk and whatever else.”
“Don’t be mad, Mutt. I’m nineteen. Do you know how many nineteen-year-old male virgins there are? It was long past due. You understand.”
“I’m not mad. I told you that. And, no, I don’t really understand because I love Leo and we still haven’t done that. Do you even know Quinn’s last name?”
“You haven’t slept with Leo?” Amos asks in disbelief.
“No, of course not.”
“I figured you had.”
“Well, I haven’t,” I say with a sigh. Extending my pinkie toward Amos, I say, “Promise me we’ll be fine. We won’t change.”
He wraps his finger around mine. “We’ll always be fine. You’re my soul mate, Alma. My family. My best friend. Others will come and go, but you and I are forever.”
“Okay. Don’t you forget it.” My lips tilt up. “Well, I do need a change of clothes, but I can shower at Leo’s and give you two some time to do whatever it is that you want to do.”
“Thanks.” He stands and takes my hand, pulling me up.
“Was it good?”
“Amazing. I don’t know why I waited nineteen years. It was …”
I hold up my hand, halting his thought. “I’m not ready for details yet.” I chuckle.
“Fair enough.”
We venture back into the room. Quinn is sitting on her bed in a loose T-shirt and cotton shorts. Her legs sway nervously over the side of the bed.
“Hi,” she squeaks when I enter, eye makeup from last night smeared across her face.
“Hi. I’m just grabbing some clothes and heading back over to Leo’s.”
“Are we all okay?” she asks.
“We’re all great,” I reassure her.
I change out of Quinn’s hooker dress and throw on something comfortable before grabbing another change of clothes and my backpack, just in case their day-after-sex date goes long.
“I’ll talk to you both later,” I say before leaving to head to Leo’s again.
At least he’s only a three-block walk away.
I’m not surprised to find him still sleeping when I get back. I start the shower and step in, allowing the hot water to wash off the makeup and randomness of the past twelve hours.
“Can I join you?” Leo’s voice startles me.
“Gosh, you scared me. Yeah, sure.”
Leo steps in and shuts the glass door. Standing behind me, he circles his arms around my front and holds me against his body. “I’m sorry about last night,” he whispers against my neck between soft kisses.
I turn in his arms and press my cheek to his chest, hugging him tight. “I’m sorry too.”
Taking a step back, I find the loofah and squeeze body gel onto it. Sudsing it up, I clean Leo’s chest and arms.
“You probably don’t remember much from last night, huh?” I ask, swiping the loofah over his shoulder.
“Not much, no. Well, besides when I confessed my love for
