bitter. I shook my head, still finding all of that very odd.
As we parked, the front door opened and I was out of the vehicle before any of the guys could stop me.
I came to a complete halt as a woman with purple hair stood in the doorway, her mouth agape in surprise. Holy shit. I was going to take a wild guess here and say that this was my actual mother.
“Colette? Baby?” she asked softly.
I blinked, looking over her shorter frame. Her purple hair tumbled down to her waist over her comfortable jeans and sweater outfit.
“Mom?” I choked out.
She jumped in surprise but broke out into a smile as my magic relaxed. I hadn’t even realized it, but a connection that I had clearly had from long ago snapped into place between us.
I let out a surprised sound as the woman practically tackled me, a sob ripping from her chest as the familiar scent of her perfume wrapped around me. One I’d forgotten and caused tears to fill my gaze. I let out a small sad sound and wrapped my arms around her further, my eyes hot with tears.
“I thought we’d never see you again.” She pulled back looking over me, her smile growing. “How did you find us? Where have you been? Oh my, you are so grown up, this is--”
“Angelica,” a deeper voice stated in a calming voice, “let her breathe, honey.”
I looked up; I mean truly looked up. This dude was huge. When my gaze reached his face I met a pair of eyes exactly like mine.
“Dad?” I asked quietly. Not even surprised I could communicate telepathically to him. He didn’t seem shocked either.
He nodded, his face looking so different than the man I’d grown up with. He dragged me into a hug as I let out a small sob. My body recognizing the two people that had raised me for the first few years of my life. The two people that had brought me into this world.
“What the hell is going on out here?” A feminine voice echoed.
I could see my mates nearby and relaxed, giving me this moment. I stepped back and wiped my tears.
“Come here,” my mother said as a girl, maybe a year younger than myself, walked down the driveway and halted upon seeing me.
“Who is this?” she asked, her brow dipping as I felt her fox jump under her skin.
I tried to reach out and almost immediately our connection snapped into place comfortably, making me wonder how close we’d been growing up. Or maybe it was a family thing, but I had a feeling it had to do with the warm sense of love between us. Well, that and the more I practiced with my magic, the easier it was to use.
“Your sister,” my father said softly.
“Colette?” she asked, her eyes widening and my jaw dropped as her voice popped into my head. “Is that really you?”
“You have telepathy?” Surprise radiated through me.
My mother’s soft voice pulled into my head. “We all do, except for your father. But I think you got most of it. You have always only been able to communicate that way.”
I blinked as my sister walked up to me, our faces so similar it was almost freaky. Her dark eyes like our father’s but her bright hair clearly from our mother’s side. In fact, it was a bright pink. Like bubble gum pink and pulled up into a messy bun.
“This is your sister, Fleur,” my father explained as the name rang a bell, her hands squeezing mine.
“Am I missing something big?” a bright voice chimed. “Why does everything happen when I’m not around?” My sister shook her head as her twin, believe me, they were practically identical, popped through my parents.
“Oh, my maker!” She squeaked, “Colette?!”
I nodded as she tackled me, making me laugh. Her bright apple red hair flying everywhere in a chaotic fashion.
“Bexley,” my mother chided.
“As if you were better,” Fleur grinned.
“Who are they?” Bexley asked, snapping her head to the side as everyone looked at my mates.
“Nice to meet all of you, I’m Hunter--”
“From the Washington wolf pack?” my father asked immediately as Hunter nodded and they met hands. “We traveled out there to meet your father when Colette was only two. He and I were part of a large group that had pack leaders meet in order to foster closeness within the supernatural community.”
My eyes widened as my mother nodded. “In fact, I am pretty sure I remember all you boys. Hunter, Luca,
