for such a long time. “I think now that when you stood here and saw me coming, you shook your head because you meant for me to not blame myself for what you were about to do. I think I knew you well enough to know you wouldn’t want me to. I think you too that I loved you. I came here today to say the words I never got to say, and tell you goodbye, but let you know I’ve never forgotten you and I never will. Thank you for opening my heart to show me what love is. That was something I didn’t have before I met you.”
She opened my heart. She was the first person to do it and show me magic.
Lilly reopened the door and showed me the path to true love.
I release the rose from my grasp and I watch it fall I promise myself that I’ll remember the good things from the past and carry them with me into the future.
I’m going to need to for what I have planned next.
Lily
The crowd filling the theatre all stand and applaud when my is announced and I come back on the stage .
As the star of the show I’m the last cast member to come out and take my bow.
Tonight was the first performance of the new show and the cheers that erupt from the crowd has every nerve in my body tingling.
I gave the performance of my life, dancing with my heart and soul showing the director he chose right when he picked me to lead.
Tonight as I performed I thought of my mom. She was in my mind like always. But who I had in the front row seats watching me were the treasures of my heart carrying me through every step of the way.
Christian and Rosie have the biggest smiles on their faces as they watch me now and cheer along with the crowd.
They are my family and as I watch them I truly, truly realized I got my dream.
They still wear those smiles when we head home later.
Rosie couldn’t stop talking about the show. She fell asleep talking about it when we put her to bed.
It’s late but when I look at Christian I can tell the night has just began for us.
Definitely when he takes me by my hand and leads me away to the terrace.
The solar panel lights come on when we step out into the night and mingle with the starlit sky.
He takes me over to the rose garden and I giggle when he makes a point of placing me under the archway of twining roses.
“What are you up to Mister?” I ask.
He leans forward and kisses me quickly.
“You will see. This is a fantasy and I’m just making sure you’re exactly as I saw you in my head,” he answers.
“No more presents,” I say holding up my hand and shaking my head. He raises his brows and tilts his head to the side. “I mean it, Christian Giordano.”
He’s given me more than I could hope for in any life time. Despite my constant protests he did give me that million dollars. When I continued to protest because I never wanted it to look like I was with him for the money he put it in a trust fund for Rosie. He did it as soon as he got out of hospital. And that was the start of a shower of gifts for the two of us.
“Can’t a man spoil his woman and his child?” he frowns and pretends to be upset.
It’s the sweetest thing hearing him call Rosie his too.
“Christian, you are our gift. It’s enough to have you,” I reply and reach up to tap the side of his cheek.
“Angel, that’s exactly why I’m doing this,” he states.
I smile and shake my head at him. “What fantasy is this Christian?”
“One for me. It’s a selfish one. Over the many years I’ve owned The Dark Odyssey with my family I’ve spend so much time creating one fantasy after another for others to enjoy. This one mine and you’re the star of this show.”
“Me?” I beam at him gazing up into those bright brown eyes. Every time I look at them I remember when he first woke up from the coma. It was like we were both given a new hope.
“Oh yeah,” he assures me. “So I’m gonna start by telling you how proud I am of you. You were fantastic tonight and I’m so happy you got your dream to dance. You were born for it. The next thing I want to do is this.” he pulls out a tattered piece of paper and hands it to me.
I look at it and see my name and my number. It takes me a moment to realize what this is.
“The note I gave you?” I ask. It was from the night I ran my car into the back of his.
He nods. “That was the night I met you and decided you had to be mine. It was a good sign of perfect things to come. I have one more thing left to do to call you mine.”
When he pulls a little blue velvet box from his pocket I narrow my eyes. That looks like another gift to me. My thoughts fade into the ether, however, when he snaps the box open and I see it’s not any old gift.
The delicate princess cut diamond set in the gold band of the engagement ring makes my breath still and my being delight in what that ring means.
A tear slides down my cheek when he lowers to one knee and holds out the ring to me.
“Lilly St. James. You are everything to me. Everything and I want you to be mine forever. I would be honored if you could be my wife and my forever. That’s the fantasy I want. I promise you happiness and love, for you and Rosie as long as I live and after, if you marry me,” he says.
I’m nodding before he can even finish.
“Yes. Of course yes. I love you,” I say.
Christian gives me the biggest smile and slips the ring on my finger.
“I love you too,” he answers , stands up and reaches for me.
When our lips met I realize something. He calls me angel. He made me the angel in his show.
It wasn’t me who was the angel.
It was him.
Christian Giordano.
He save me and loved me.
Now I can spend the rest of my days loving him too.
Thank you so much for reading Christian and Lilly’s story. I’m sure you must be anxious to read about Georgiou, Henry and Evie’s story.
