honey bunches.” His look said it all before he turned his heated gaze from his wife and granted me a more serious one.
“So, this amassed force in Hell, want to explain exactly how you managed that?” he asked, making me shrug my shoulders and tell him,
“You know yourself, Dom, what happens when the most powerful beings pledge their loyalty to you.”
“Whatever comes with them, also becomes yours,” he finished off for me.
“Exactly, you know yourself just how many Legions of Hell one being can control, and with that, if one man is turned… that can then become hundreds,” I added, making him nod in understanding.
“So, your sizeable army are souls you don’t own but will none the less fight for the ones loyal to you.”
“And then against me, once their masters’ souls are owned by Matthias… hence you see my problem,” I told him, making Keira jump in as it was clear she was falling behind in the conversation.
“Wait a second and back up a bit. Can we pretend for the last 30 years I haven't been a part of your world and haven't exactly read every book in our library yet?”
“Haven't exactly?” Dom muttered, making her hold up a finger and snap,
“Don’t comment… now, explain this to me in layman's terms.”
“My army is useless to me, for once there has been a transfer of souls, they will be controlled under a new master.”
“Under this Matthias guy?” Keira asked, making me grit out,
“Yes.” I did this, because this had been the only part I hadn’t yet told them, who Matthias and the witch were with regards to me. Something I knew was coming even before Dom asked,
“And have you discovered who he is and why you are the target?” I looked back to Dariush, who granted me a knowing look that basically said, ‘you poor bastard’.
“I am afraid this is when things get… complicated,” I said with a wince, knowing it was time to reveal exactly who we were fighting against.
“This is when things get complicated… jeez, what were we calling it before exactly?” Keira muttered to herself, but this was when I told them the true depth of the situation.
“Before it was just an enemy to kill.”
“And now?” Dom asked, making me swallow down the bitter truth and tell them,
“Now, it’s my brother.”

Shocking revelations
I realised my mistake the moment I said it, as Keira shot an incredulous glare at Dariush and said in outrage,
“Oh my God, what did you do, Dariush!?” It was in this moment that I winced, and my brother tensed, now sitting up straight and sending daggers my way. Because of course, she may have met him in another version of the past, but as for Dariush, he had never met the woman in all his life!
“What the fuck?!” Dom snapped, and I groaned before rubbing my temple as if a fucking mortal headache was coming on.
“Erm… I have a feeling I might have jumped to conclusions here,” Keira said sheepishly, as she took in the sight of Dariush who was looking pissed at being accused.
“I think someone needs to explain, and now!” Dom snapped, making Keira mouth a silent,
‘My bad’ at me and that may have worked on a certain Imp, but it wasn’t working for her.
“There are things even you do not know of me, old friend,” I told him, making him cross his arms over his chest and say,
“Then may I suggest you rectify that and start talking,” with a nod towards my brother, making Keira look guilty and say,
“Yeah, and you may want to start with introducing your brother… hey Dariush.” Keira finished this by giving my brother a little wave, and was purposely trying to ignore the astonished look her husband was giving her. Of course, ignoring him was only going to last so long, as he grasped her chin in his thumb and forefinger and turned her head his way, forcing her head back. Then he said her name in warning,
“Keira.” In answer to this, she shrugged her shoulders before telling him,
“What? It wasn't my secret to tell.” His eyes narrowed down at her before expressing his thoughts on her excuse.
“We will discuss all the things you have kept from me once this is over, my dear, but for now, I take it what my wife says is true.” This last part was directed at me, as he released his possessive hold on his wife and instead, began to run the backs of his fingers down her pale skin.
