edge, using all his senses to make sure his mate felt as amazing as Logan did. Every gasp and grunt told him that he’d succeeded, and the scent of Bailey’s building arousal drove Logan nearer to release than he wanted.
Bailey didn’t seem to care how fast they’d gone. He grabbed Logan’s arms and shoved his hips up hard and fast, chasing his release. Logan gave their tips an extra squeeze and fast stroke, and that was all it took for Bailey to cry out Logan’s name as he came.
Logan released Bailey and turned his attention to himself for the minute it took for him to follow his mate over the edge. He knelt over Bailey, gasping and trembling, then realized his mate had gifted him with one of his full-on, beaming, light-up-the-world smiles.
Logan leaned forward, unable to resist trying to taste it. Bailey tugged him down so they lay chest to chest, their sticky spend between them.
“That was so good,” Bailey murmured between kisses. “I knew it would be.”
“’Cause I’m awesome,” Logan said. He raised his head to see Bailey’s smile widen. He lived for those smiles and would do anything to keep them on Bailey’s face forever.
“It must be an alpha thing,” Bailey whispered into Logan’s neck.
Logan groaned and his cock twitched.
“Oh, that works on you too, huh? I’m going to have fun exploring that. Maybe I’ll leave marks all over you like you do on me.”
Logan’s wolf surged forward. He’d love nothing more.
Bailey grinned and pushed Logan to the side. “You’re heavy.”
Logan let Bailey arrange them how he wanted, and he ended up on his back with Bailey plastered to his side.
“Thank you,” Bailey said softly.
There were a thousand words unspoken in those two simple ones. “You’re welcome,” Logan said.
He kissed Bailey’s forehead and held him close until Bailey drifted to sleep in Logan’s arms.

Logan
Logan hadn’t kept his promise to Bailey—not yet, anyway. He’d talk to the team about being his pack, but he had something else on his mind. He’d been accepted by his mate, and he wanted to shout it from the rooftops.
He didn’t need to. His pack knew.
Maybe it was the swagger in his step when he came down to the warehouse. Maybe it was the smug grin. Either way, he didn’t need to tell them he’d claimed Bailey as his. He just needed to tell them that he’d also claimed them as pack.
But before he did that, he had one other thing to do.
“Gideon, spar.”
The vampire looked up at him from the mats where he’d been guiding Scout through a stretching routine. They’d been planning a team-only training session, but Logan had changed his mind.
Logan geared up, which had Gideon raising his eyebrows. He normally didn’t bother. If one of them got in a good hit, he deserved to feel it. The guys they fought didn’t pull punches. But what he was about to say would likely piss off Gideon. He’d been needing to blow off some steam for a few days.
Gideon put on wrist guards but didn’t add any other protective gear. “What’s up?”
“I’m benching you for the day.” Logan followed his announcement with a couple of quick jabs, which Gideon easily avoided.
“Why?” Gideon asked.
“Because I’m bringing in Taj.” Another few jabs and a roundhouse kick. Gideon dodged both, then returned with a right hook that Logan barely avoided.
“Why?”
“It’s time. I’m done. My mate was attacked, and we haven’t found the creature who did it. We aren’t even close. We have nothing. I want Taj at every crime scene. I want him to see every place, smell every scent. Both Rebecca and Jeff are recovering, thank the goddess, but they deserve to know we’ve caught their attacker. I want Taj talking to each of them, and I want them to know we haven’t forgotten or given up. We need damned way to find this thing, and he’s our best bet. I’m not going to be gentle with your feelings on this, Gideon. I can’t be.”
Gideon nailed him in the ribs before dancing back a few steps. “He can’t be trusted.”
“Will he lie?”
Gideon clenched his jaw and moved in again. Logan managed to get in a jab to Gideon’s stomach. He’d never actually done it before. The vampire was extremely distracted.
“Not about this,” Gideon hissed. He nailed Logan in the side of the head with a kick Logan hadn’t even seen coming.
Logan recovered and came back with a series of hits that drove Gideon back several paces. He’d not wasted the past several months
