He just reached down to start his computer, doing nothing to stop his laugh. "Isn't that the asshole Braden beat the shit out of for throwing Rhaven's panties?"
"Yep!" Zara said. Then she sighed. "Aw, he's not respawning. But this is the best my stats have ever been! Plus, he deserves it for what he's done."
"Braden's just lucky the guy didn't press charges," Jason reminded her.
Zara glanced over to give him an exasperated look. "We all know he's some flunky with KoG. You could probably find enough to have him arrested first, and then Braden's able to claim it's self-defense. Or, well, whatever protecting a loved one is called."
Taking his chair, Jason found his headset, pulled that around his neck, and turned so he could see his girl while things continued to load. "So, how many times did you kill him, anyway?" he asked.
"Eight in a row," she told him. "But he got one on me in there. I think it was like a total of twelve kills on him this morning. He was trying to troll me, too. Saying I was just a cum-guzzling whore, and that having my boyfriend buy me a fancy-ass computer didn't mean I was any good. I told him that my best friend got me the computer, thank you very much."
Jason reached over and clicked on both the TeamSpeak icon and Eternal Combat, loading them both. Naturally, TeamSpeak loaded up first. Pulling on his headphones, he jumped into the room she was in, and then turned to his own screen. The next time he talked, he pushed a button so it would transmit to everyone.
"So, I get absolutely no credit for this, huh? Murder gets you some fancy computer and what do I do?"
"Oh, you get me off," Zara said. "Makes sure I'm all nice and relaxed so I can aim."
"Oh!" Knock said. "And now Murder's the one losing out."
"I get plenty of my own Kitty," Murder joked. "Hey, Cyn, nice to hear you online. Where ya been?"
"Was starting to worry that you didn't love us anymore," Riley said.
"She's full of it," Void assured him. "I told her about our little call."
"Well, that's where I've been," Jason said. "Grand jury is going forward, and we've successfully arrested forty-seven members of the domestic terrorist group called the Kings of Gaming."
"Nice!" a woman said.
Jason paused, trying to place it, and his eyes scanned the list of people in the room. "Jericho?" he asked.
"What? I play shooters," she promised. "And if I play with Knock tonight..."
"Not sounding how you want that to," Knock told her. "I promised to spend time in Flawed with the gang tomorrow," he explained. "I keep saying that I gotta get my stats up for F5, but they think I'm good enough already."
"You blue, Knock?" Jason asked.
"Shit," Knock groaned. "See what you did, Jeri? He's gonna come kick my ass now. And yeah, Cyn, I am. New Falls base. We're against red. Drop in and make me work for it."
"Your bitch going to back you up?" he teased.
"I will kick your FBI ass," Jericho warned.
"I was asking about Cade," Jason told her.
Beside him, Zara just laughed. "No, he's out today. Just those two. Kinda a mixed bag. Sounds like a few of the crew are moving before classes start."
"Few more days," Knock said, "and then I will officially be a college boy."
"My college boy," Jericho told him.
"One of many," Riley said. "Hey, Cyn? Wanna trade pics? I'll double down. Have Quake and Ryan. Will trade for Crysis and the happy couple."
"Phone's in the other room," he told her, "but sure. I'm also looking for information on an event that's coming up. August twenty-ninth. Someone please tell me the colors? I'm terrified it's going to be hideous."
"Don't worry," Zara said, "if you don't like it, you don't have to marry the girl. I hear Psyc's still single."
"I didn't do shit to you," Psyc said, proving he was also online. "And if you keep that up, I'm taking back your wedding present. Got you a ten-inch strap-on for Cyn."
"Little pegging never hurt anyone," Void said.
The entire chat went silent.
"What?" he asked. "Knock kept leaving his porn playing in the game room. I just decided to try it."
"Are you serious?" Murder asked.
Riley giggled.
Zara had her lips pressed together, struggling not to laugh. But Jason was on the same page as Murder. Was he serious? Considering it was Void, there was absolutely no way to be sure.
"Q?" Jason asked.
"I am a sweet and innocent little virgin,
