headed back to the house, unable to stop smiling.
I don’t know which appetite I want to deal with first.
Because the thought of going back to the man lying in that warm bed was so tempting.
Finn closed the door and went into the kitchen, in search of something for Bramble. He found a sack of dry dog food in the cabinet next to the refrigerator, and poured a scoop of it into Bramble’s bowl. Then he filled the water bowl and set it beside the food. Bramble approached, his nose twitching.
“Here ya go, boy.”
That was all the invitation Bramble needed, apparently.
Finn left him to it and went over to the coffee pot. He turned it on, then reached into the cabinet for two mugs. It wasn’t long before the smell wafted through the air, and Finn smiled.
That might wake him up.
Sure enough, a moment later he caught movement above his head. “Do I smell coffee?” A pause. “Is that the time? Christ.” There came the sound of feet thudding down the stairs. “I never sleep this late.” Joel burst into view, wearing only his jeans. “Bramble needs to—” He broke off at the sight of Bramble chowing down. “Oh. Great. But he has to—”
“Been there, done that.” Finn gestured to the front door. “I took him out there.”
“Thank you.” Joel sniffed. “And you made coffee.” He grinned. “A man who’s house-trained. I like it.”
“We aim to please.”
“Of course, it’s your fault I didn’t wake up with the birds this morning.”
Finn chuckled. “Did I wear you out last night?” He’d had the best sleep. Finn liked Joel in nothing but jeans. Even his bare feet were sexy, and Finn had never had a thing for a guy’s feet. A wave of shyness broke over him. “Good morning.”
Joel walked slowly to where Finn stood. Without a word, he leaned in and kissed Finn on the lips, a chaste kiss that still managed to light a fire in Finn’s belly. “Now it’s a good morning,” Joel said as he drew back.
Finn couldn’t resist. He put his arms around Joel and closed the gap between them, emboldened by Joel’s kiss. “It could get even better.”
Joel’s eyes gleamed. “Well, seeing as you went to the trouble of picking up all those condoms, it seems a shame not to use them.” He stilled. “That’s if you—”
Finn stopped his words with a kiss. “Dumb question,” he murmured against Joel’s lips.
Breakfast would have to wait.
“You are a terrible distraction,” Finn muttered as they walked back to Joel’s car.
Joel blinked. “I took you for breakfast at Becky’s Diner. How is that a distraction?” He gestured to the wharf that had been their view while they ate. “This has to be better than eating at my place.”
It was a great view, and Finn had devoured every mouthful of his Hobson’s Wharf Special, wolfing down sausage, scrambled eggs, French toast and home fries, and a lot of coffee. But there was a deck to finish, and so far his Sunday had been nothing but fucking and eating. Not that he’d said no when Joel suggested driving to Portland to eat. So what if it meant a thirty-minute drive? Becky’s French toast was to die for. And he couldn’t really complain about the fucking part either.
Warmth rushed through him. Definitely not gonna complain about that.
“I’d love to know what just went through your mind.” Joel’s eyes glittered.
Finn snorted. “I don’t think it would come as a surprise.”
“You said come.” Joel bit his lip.
Finn rolled his eyes. “What is this—you get laid, and then suddenly you’re a kid again?”
Joel laughed. “I feel young today.”
Finn’s heart soared to hear the words, and right then he yearned to be back in Joel’s bed, on his knees, holding onto the headboard and impaling himself on Joel’s meaty dick—again. And again. And again, with Joel’s hand on his belly, the other on Finn’s shaft. Damn it, he could still feel Joel’s lips on his back, those gentle kisses that were the perfect accompaniment for the leisurely in-and-out motion of Joel’s cock.
He expelled a breath. “Yep, you are a terrible distraction.” And Finn couldn’t have been happier about it.
Joel’s breathing changed, and Finn knew he wasn’t going to get any work done on the deck that day.
“Then let’s go home so I can distract you some more.”
“Joel?”
Finn knew that voice. Joel stiffened. “I do not believe this,” he muttered. They turned around, and Joel sighed heavily at the sight of Megan and Lynne. “Hello there. What a surprise.”
Finn chuckled
