through her eyes. Zoe pushed him away, that lovely blush deepening ever so slightly.
“I didn’t think you’d be naked,” she muttered, trying to get up without touching more of him than she had to.
Liam chuckled and got to his feet, dragging her with him so she didn’t slip and fall again. Zoe didn’t like that either. She also didn’t like when he released her so she wasn’t pressed against him since he’d never seen anyone turn around so fast in his life.
“I can’t shift into clothes, the magic doesn’t work like that,” he told her, reaching under the counter for a pair of sweatpants. They stashed them everywhere for situations like this. “I apologize if my naked body offends you.”
“I’m a nurse,” she snapped. “I’ve seen a million people naked.”
He yanked the pants up and then felt that old mischievous streak rise again. She was so easy to provoke. Liam placed his hands on the counter, trapping her. He was very careful to make sure none of their skin touched.
“No one that looks like me,” he whispered, reading every scent and emotion she had as well as listening to the way her pulse picked up speed. Satisfied with her reaction, Liam pushed back, giving her some space. “Well, at least until you see Noah naked.”
He laughed and left the bathroom, trusting her to follow.
Zoe was silent, but he could hear her following him back to her room.
“Finally, you don’t have something to say?” he asked, stepping aside so she could go back into the room.
She glared up at him and it was the cutest thing he’d ever seen. Zoe looked like an angry kitten when she was mad, but he wasn’t stupid. Those teeth and claws were vicious.
“Maybe I think you’re too full of yourself and decided I didn’t owe you a response,” she snapped, walking back into the bedroom.
“Maybe,” he agreed, giving her a big grin. This was fun. “Your backpack and phone were brought down here. Is there anything else you need?”
“Am I a prisoner?” she demanded, crossing her arms over her chest.
“No.” Liam mimicked her body language and leaned against the doorway. She was looking a million times better, but he still didn’t want to risk anything. “But I want the doctor to take a look at you before we start wandering around the homestead. She’ll be back in a few hours.”
“A doctor?” Zoe scoffed. “A real one?”
Liam grinned but didn’t respond. He’d let Laura handle it. She would probably love Zoe. The two of them were so alike.
“And who are you to tell me what I can and can’t do?” Zoe looked like she might just stamp her foot.
He kind of hoped she would.
“No one important,” Liam murmured, looking her up and down. “You look good in my clothes by the way.”

Zoe
The balls on this asshole were outrageous. She couldn’t decide if she was impressed or disgusted. And why the fuck had he given her his clothes? More importantly, why was she acting like a total idiot around him?
She’d blushed at his naked body like she was a teenage girl all over again. Zoe couldn’t remember the last time she’d done that. It was even more annoying he was right. She’d never seen anyone quite like him before.
It wasn’t the tattoos despite how beautiful they were, but the absolute perfection of his body. Liam’s skin was tanned and clear. His shoulders were massive, and every muscle was sculpted like he’d been carved from marble.
There wasn’t even much hair on him which Zoe admitted was one of her preferences.
How had she gotten into this mess?
Oh right, she’d been pissed that he wouldn’t talk to her, staying in his wolf form. Zoe was still trying to process how a man could go from a wolf, back to a man without issue, but Liam had mentioned magic and she’d heard the crack and pop of bones.
Something she really wasn’t looking forward to.
Zoe had a million questions and she’d known he’d stayed in his wolf body on purpose, so he didn’t have to respond to her. It was annoying as hell and his smirk as a man made her want to claw it off his face.
But she had to admit, she’d never had anyone respond to her bitchy attitude so calmly before. Liam had even smiled and laughed like it was all exactly what he wanted to see from her. Zoe hated to be predictable when it came to men, but there was just something so good-natured about the way
