a pair of basketball shorts that showed off his bulge. I tied the belt quickly and loosely and then swung the door open.
“Come in,” I hissed, ushering him in quickly.
I was close, I observed silently as he entered the room in a pair of thin basketball shorts and a tight white t-shirt. I stuck my head out the door and looked both ways. “Did anyone see you?”
“No…” He dragged the word out slowly.
I turned around and caught him checking me out. “What are you looking at?”
“How good you look in that,” he answered. He tilted his head to the side. “That’s a short ass robe.”
“I didn’t have time to put anything on,” I replied, swatting at his arm as I walked by him. “I was moisturizing when you texted me.”
“Oh, I’m not complaining and please don’t let me stop you.” He stood in the middle of the room with his arms outstretched. “Better yet, if you need help applying any lotion or oil to your body, I’d be more than happy to assist.”
“You are very generous, Mr. Wright.”
He held my gaze. “Please believe I would be getting just as much out of it.”
I felt my nipples tighten against the satin instantly. “You play too much.”
“I’m not the one playing,” he argued. “You picked truth and then you picked dare and I think that’s suspicious.”
“Suspicious?” I scoffed, rubbing lotion on my arms. I stood a few feet away from him and I watched his eyes as he noticed how hard my nipples were. “I think you’re suspicious.”
“Are you ready to answer your original question?” he wondered, meeting my gaze again.
“Actually, it’s my turn. Your dare was for me to open the door,” I pointed out, tossing the lotion in my luggage. “So now it’s my turn.”
He thought about it for a second. “I guess you’re right, technically.”
“I’m always right,” I joked.
His eyes flashed with amusement and he ran his hand down his goatee. “Only when you agree with me.”
“Truth or dare?” I asked, hoping to steer him away from anything involving Chloe or Corrine.
He studied me as if he were trying to figure out what I had up my sleeve. “Dare,” he answered carefully.
“I dare you not to ask me about what I said earlier.”
His brows furrowed and he eyed me warily. “What’s going on?”
“Nothing,” I assured him. “I just… I can tell you later, but I shouldn’t say anything at all right now. And if you keep asking me and looking at me like that, I might slip up. So, it’s best if I keep my mouth shut…”
“Oh wowwwwwwwwww,” he said loudly and dramatically. “You’re keeping secrets from me now.”
I laughed. “It’s not like that,” I laughed, putting my hands on my hips.
“You know who also said it wasn’t like that when it was exactly like that?”
“Omar!” I yelled in laughter before slapping my hand over my mouth. I was way too loud, but I couldn’t help it.
I put my hands on my knees, unable to stay upright as Kingston imitated the confused look Omar had on his face when he denied dating someone we all knew he was dating.
“Shhh,” he shushed me as a second wave of giggles moved through me.
“Stop! Stop it,” I hissed, tears coming from my eyes. Standing, I let out a breath. “You crack me up. It’s like I forget how funny you are and then we get together and you…” My sentence trailed off as his adoring gaze gave me butterflies.
His eyes pierced me as he took a step forward. “I what?”
The way he looked at me sucked all the amusement from my body. His gaze left me exposed, reducing me to nothing more than a puddle of inexplicable feelings and raw nerve endings.
I cleared my throat, glancing away for a moment. “Anyway, I’m not keeping secrets from you. I’m delaying telling you for a day. I’ll make sure you know at the reception tomorrow. I promise.”
“Okay, I’ll drop it.” He licked his lips. “Truth or dare?”
When he licked his lips, I felt the full extent of my nakedness underneath my robe. I swallowed hard. “Truth.”
Without a word, he started walking toward me. He gently wrapped his hand around my throat and backed me up until I was against the wall. His face hovered over mine. Breathing heavily, we stared at one another. Seconds ticked by and my heart started racing. His eyes bore into me with such a fierce intensity that I didn’t know what was coming next.
His mouth was so close, I
