his heart. “We can have a long engagement. You can take as long as you want to—”
“Short.” She tugged him to his feet. Threw her arms around him and held on tight. Crushingly tight. “We are having the shortest engagement possible.” She squeezed him. “Like, let’s get married tonight. Right now. As soon as we can.”
Was she serious?
Her head tipped back, and she smiled up at him. “You’re mine forever, and that’s just the way it’s gonna be. After all, someone has to watch your back, and the best person for that job is me.”
He couldn’t stop the tide of happiness and hope any longer. She wanted him. Loved him. Was marrying him and—
“In other words,” Ella whispered, “I most definitely will marry you.”

“Did you get her back?” Sebastian Ridgeway demanded.
Antony had paused long enough to answer his phone. He’d been on his way down the aisle—literally—when the jarring rock and roll ring tone had told him that Sebastian was calling. Again.
Antony was in Vegas. He’d taken a private plane with Ella as soon as the sun rose. They were in the most colorful chapel he’d ever seen, and he had to get to the end of the aisle and take up his position before she came out to him.
“Antony! Talk to me! I’ve been getting crazy updates from Dex. He told me that Carson hired some mercenary to plan your kidnapping. The merc killed one of the guys he brought in on the abduction and put the other in the hospital.”
Yes, all of that was true. Cal had made it out of surgery. He’d immediately turned on his boss—Warren. But Warren had been a gun for hire. For Antony’s kidnapping, Carson had been pulling his strings.
“Listen,” Sebastian continued. “I need to know that Ella—”
“Ella will be coming back to the company.” He adjusted his tie with one hand and hurried to take up his position.
“Good.” A sigh of relief. “I don’t care how much you have to pay her—you cannot be an idiot and let that woman get away.”
Oh, don’t worry. She’s not getting away.
The organist began to play.
“What in the hell is that? Music? Where are you?”
“Vegas.”
“Why in the world are you in Vegas?”
Wasn’t it obvious? “I’m getting married.”
“What?”
The organist was glaring at him. “I can’t talk now. But rest assured, Ella will be back. I learn from my mistakes.”
“Ella will be—holy shit, are you marrying her?” Sebastian’s voice shot up.
Of course, he was marrying her. Who else would he marry?
Ella appeared in the doorway. She wore a simple white dress and carried red roses.
So beautiful.
“Hell, yes,” Antony managed to growl. Hell, yes, I am marrying her.
Sebastian sputtered questions, but Antony hung up and shoved the phone into his pocket. Nothing else mattered at that moment but Ella. He’d explain everything to his buddy later.
She smiled at him. Her steps were graceful. Sensual. Pure Ella.
When she reached the end of the red-carpeted aisle, Ella reached for his hand.
He stared at her, his dream. And Antony knew that—for the rest of his life—he would never, ever forget how happy he was when Ella said those two incredibly precious words…
“I do.”
