Freddy Krueger, and he bloody well does. He said, I am going to wash every part of your body with this black soap, beeetch. Well, he didn’t say bitch, but he did mean every part. Do they normally do your tackle and your arse crack? Luckily, I was too freaked out to get an erection. He followed that with, Then I will scrub your entire body with this orange glove, beeetch. And it fucking hurt. I didn’t work hard on getting a tan for him to rub it all off. When he said Now, I will give you facial, beeetch, for a moment, I panicked.”
Tay laughed.
“Then he stretched me and I’m as tall as you now.”
“No, you’re not.”
“Stand up and let’s check.”
Tay sighed but pushed to his feet.
Ink came up against him. “Huh. I’m going to ask for my money back.”
Tay pulled him down on top of him. “Let’s find a way to stop you thinking about being smaller than me because part of you definitely isn’t.”
“The disappointment is crushing. I may never recover.”
Tay pulled a condom and lube from the bag.
“Yep, that will work.” Ink grinned. “I’m completely better.”
Twelve months later
TAY DITHERED.
How should he do this?
Send a love letter?
Leave a treasure trail with himself as the treasure?
Ask him over dinner?
After sex?
Before sex?
In the middle of sex?
Wait until they were in some exotic place? Russia, for Ink’s birthday?
Or just go onto Bamburgh beach?
Tonight?
Tomorrow?
At sunrise?
Sunset?
Now.
Yep.
Ask him now.
Will he say yes?
He did.
The End
Author’s notes
While I was researching for this story, I googled – police procedure for terrorist attacks. Not something I expected to find much about. To my astonishment, when I read about the terrorist attack on London Bridge, one of the men who tried to restrain the terrorist turned out to be a convicted murderer. He was out on licence to attend the prisoner rehabilitation event where the terror attack started. I was astounded and if you’ve read this story, you’ll know why! I wondered if I’d read that in the past, filed it in my mind, then turned it into fiction, but I don’t believe that’s what happened. It’s just a coincidence.
The other point I wanted to make was to do with the identification of the child’s body. I’ve used a bit of artistic licence here and not had DNA tests done, but relied solely on the testimony of the father. I looked very hard, but I couldn’t find out whether a father’s testimony that a child was his son was enough evidence. I know a post mortem would be done, but that’s not for identification purposes.
About the Author
Barbara Elsborg lives in Kent in the south of England. She always wanted to be a spy, but having confessed to everyone without them even resorting to torture, she decided it was not for her. Volcanology scorched her feet. A morbid fear of sharks put paid to marine biology. So instead, she spent several years successfully selling cyanide.
After dragging up two rotten, ungrateful children and frustrating her sexy, devoted, wonderful husband (who can now stop twisting her arm) she finally has time to conduct an affair with an electrifying plugged-in male, her laptop.
Her books feature quirky heroines and bad boys, and she hopes they are as much fun to read as they are to write.
She loves hearing from readers and can be contacted at [email protected] If you’d like to hear about future releases please ask to be put on her mailing list.
