the door to our home, letting us all pile inside.
Before I could step through the doorway, Hiro scooped me up and carried me across the threshold, unwilling to set me down as he took the stairs, ignoring my giggles and protests with a wicked grin on his sexy lips.
“We have to go back!” I scolded. “What about the reception? Our guests?”
“They’ll wait, baby,” Killian promised, already tugging at his tie and loosening the buttons at his throat.
“How did you keep this from me?” Damien stared wide-eyed at the beautiful gold band on his finger, the color as brilliant in color as my Phoenix.
“It was challenging,” I admitted, “but I needed to do something special after everything you’ve all done for me over the years. I wanted you to carry a token with you as I do.” I stared dreamily at the ring on my finger, each band woven together, making each one stronger.
“Was the wedding everything you dreamed it would be?” Ryder asked, his jacket now hung over a chair in the room as he unbuttoned his shirt. Hiro and I both licked our lips at the same time as inch after inch of golden skin was laid bare for us.
All around me, my mates undressed.
“It’s funny how dreams change,” I remarked, backing slowly toward the bed as heat settled low in my belly. The flames my mates inspired in me were always just a spark away, awaiting embers ready to flare back to life. “The wedding was beautiful, but it wasn’t a dream of mine.”
Turning, I pulled my hair over my shoulder and let Killian tug my zipper down with large, deft fingers before spinning back around. Slowly, so slowly, I let my dress drop off my body to pool in an elegant pile of fabric on the floor. I squirmed as their hungry eyes drank me in, falling to the beautiful lace that covered my breasts and core, just barely keeping my flesh from their gazes.
“What’s your dream now, sweetheart?” Damien queried, even as he prowled forward.
“Once upon a time, I dreamed of a new life, and then I met you. I used to dream of helping children, and now I have Emy. I used to dream of falling in love, and now I’m mated,” I said, backing slowly toward the bed.
“And what do you dream of now, Nix?” Theo purred, his blue eyes like sunshine against the brightest ocean.
“Hmm,” I hummed and crawled backward onto the bed, enjoying the six hooded gazes that watched as I reached behind me and unclasped my lingerie. “Well, right this very minute, I dream of being devoured by you until you make me scream your names.”
“And then?” Ryder pressed, biting his lip as I tossed the lace away.
“And then I want to live happily ever after with you,” I answered softly, dreaming of all the things we had to look forward to in our future. I’d take them all, the good with the bad, so long as we were together.
“I think you’ve earned your fairy-tale ending,” Hiro mused, his dark eyes promising me the world.
“We all have. We lived through the darkness, walked through the fire, and emerged on the other side stronger because of it. Now we get to celebrate the light.” Six smiles matched the one on my face as I held my arms out for my mates, and the mattress dipped as they crawled toward me, ready to start our forever.
This right here was happiness. What dreams were made of.
This was eternity.
And it was perfect.
