someone with him.”
“Someone?” Mona followed behind him, her presence bringing him an odd peace. Especially given she was one of the things causing him the most unrest.
He shucked his jacket, tossing it across the rickety chair tucked into one corner. “Based on Dutch’s extreme desire for me to be downstairs I would say Vincent’s found someone interesting for us to talk to.”
His shirt was the next to go, joining the jacket as he searched for their replacements.
“I like the blue ones.”
He glanced Mona’s way.
“They match your eyes.”
He pulled a white shirt with blue pinstripes free of its hanger. “That is good to know.” He pulled the shirt on, finding no small amount of satisfaction in the way her eyes followed his every move, lingering in some places longer than others. “Although I was under the impression your interest in me was only recently realized.”
Mona’s eyes snapped to his. “I don’t remember saying I was interested in you.”
“I will remind you of that this evening when you are begging me to give you all the things I’ve promised.”
Her skin immediately flushed. It was a reaction he wasn’t even sure she realized she had. It was the only hint he’d initially had that his desire for her might actually be reciprocated.
“I guess we’ll see about that.”
She was beginning to surprise him almost constantly. “We will most definitely see.”
Mona pointed to his lower half. “Don’t forget your pants.”
“Is that your way of telling me you’d like to see all I have to offer you?” He loved the pink of her skin. The drop of her lids. The quickening of her breath. It made it impossible for him to focus on anything other than bringing it back.
“I plan to do more than see it.”
He missed a button, his fingers fumbling as his brain latched onto her words.
She smirked at him, crossing her arms over her chest. “But it seems like that will have to wait for tonight.” Her eyes dropped to where his dick throbbed. The tip of her tongue skimmed over her lower lip a second before she caught it between her teeth, gaze filled with an almost palpable hunger. His cock strained against the confines of his pants, the temptation of her mouth making him ache.
“Got an updated ETA for me?”
Fucking Dutch.
He tapped his ear, activating the mic attached to his piece. “Five minutes.”
Mona’s smirk was back. “Better hurry then.” She turned away to saunter back into his room, leaving him to finish dressing alone, stiff and fantastically frustrated.
Pierce quickly finished pulling on a navy suit. He was just tying his shoes when Dutch was back. “You’re killing me right now.”
“We’re walking out the door.” Pierce strode into the bedroom, expecting to find Mona waiting there, but the room was empty except for the pile of bedding on the floor.
“Mona?” Had she already found the new codes to his doors? It wouldn’t surprise him if she had. The women of Intel were dedicated to each other. There was no doubt in his mind if Mona wanted out there would be no shortage of women ready to do whatever it took to set her free.
A sound in the kitchen caught his attention.
Mona stood at the island, perusing the bowl of fruit there.
“Take anything you want. It’s yours.” He buttoned the front of his jacket as she ran her fingers over a few options.
Finally she selected something and pulled it free.
“Not that. You can’t have that.” He pointed to the bowl. “For the love of God pick something else.”
Her brows came together as her eyes dipped to the banana in her hand.
He saw it the second it happened. Her lips curved. “You said I could have anything I wanted. That it was mine.”
“Not that.” He pointed to the bowl. “Put the damn thing back.”
“No.” She peeled back the outside, revealing the fruit. Her eyes held his as she slid it between her lips, cheeks hollowing as those same lips wrapped tight.
“Pierce!”
“Come on.” He gritted his teeth as he grabbed her by the arm, pulling her toward the back door. “You better finish that before we get to my office. I won’t have Vincent imagining all the things I am right now.”
He probably already did.
There was something about Mona that a man couldn’t help but notice. She might not be the woman they noticed first, but she was definitely the one they couldn’t look away from once they found her, and it had as much to do with her cooly classic beauty as it did
