on the cops.
He swivelled his chair around to the gun case sitting on the roof behind him. He opened it and found the silencer in its own slot. It screwed in place at the end of the barrel and he resumed his position. He knew in real life, silencers only muffled the gunshot but they worked well at distorting which direction the shot came from.
He noticed a few cops running around on the other side of the street, talking to pedestrians. It was obvious they were telling them to leave the area. Once they said a few words and pointed in one direction or another, the people ran off, away from the clubhouse.
Well that's no fun.
He refocused on the group of cops standing by their vehicles. He would sight-in on one, pretend to shoot, then move on to another. How he wished he would get a call telling him to nail a few. Each day of his eight years in prison, he wished for an opportunity like this one.
While in prison, there was one cop he thought of most. Just thinking of him, made his heart rate increase, and caused his palms to sweat. In fact, he had a hard time thinking about anything other than the hatred he had for that man.
"Pop. Pop. Pop," he said to himself, pretending to blow another cop's head off. Onto the next..."Pop. Pop. Pop."
Chapter 33
Bill Roberts
Bill Roberts and his homicide team had worked well with the Tactical Team on many occasions. The tactical officers were better equipped for helping with the search instead of keeping pedestrians away.
They followed the team to the clubhouse, and were quick to exit their vehicle. They split up and ran to the different pedestrians now stopped on the sidewalk watching the excitement. Pedestrians seemed to appear out of nowhere when the police showed up. He and his team did their best to direct people away, some taking up more than their share of time asking questions.
After a couple of good encounters, Bill found a man standing in front of a restaurant not far from the clubhouse. The guy had attitude Bill could sense, before he even said anything. He clearly did not want to leave. Bill saw the Anarchy T-shirt the guy had on, and knew he was in for a hassle. The man had his cell phone out and was recording the action on the other side of the street. Bill thought it'd be a real shame if, with a little help, the guy might accidentally drop his cell phone under Bill's boot, but in this day and age, he knew better.
Sure as hell, someone else would catch it on camera.
He looked over at Cliff and Evans, who both got off lucky -- the people they had been talking to were now running towards the perimeter.
Why did I have to get this guy?
The man in front of him was still recording. Bill noticed the Tactical Team had been allowed access to the building, and were now entering.
"Sir, I must insist you move along," Bill said.
"Not going anywhere, man. Free country and I'm not in the way."
The cell phone was now being pointed in Bill's face. Bill shrugged his shoulders and calmly said, "For your own safety, I'm recommending you leave the area. But if you choose to stay, I don't want you leaving this sidewalk. If you do, I'll arrest you and charge you with interfering in police business. Is this understood?"
"What are you here for anyway?" asked the man.
"No comment. Don't move off the sidewalk," Bill said, as he started walking away.
"What's that supposed to mean? Harassing the good people of Toronto, is what it looks like. We pay your salary, cop. Isn't there something better you could be doing? There must be a donut shop around here somewhere."
This guy is a piece of work.
Bill glanced back to see the man had followed him into the road. He turned, pointed at the man, and said, "Get back on the sidewalk."
As the man backed up, Bill said sternly, "Step out of line -- you'll suffer the consequences."
"No problem, man," the guy said. "Calm down."
Chapter 34
The Doctor
Sitting in the coffee shop, with a front row seat, the psychiatrist was enjoying his coffee when all traffic stopped. He knew it was starting. He had refilled his coffee, and now leaned against the back of the seat with his legs crossed in front of him. He loved the excitement.
A group of police SUV's rolled in and officers jumped out. The
