I love you for that.
I also love Ken Easton. I joke that I don’t carry a purse; I carry a man. I bring Ken with me everywhere I go. He is the holder of my lipstick, the keeper of my schedule, the doer of my taxes, the mower of my lawn, and the hand on my elbow, preventing me from walking into traffic when I’m too busy talking to you all on social media to pay attention to my surroundings. He keeps me alive and fed and laughing and out of prison so that I can do what I love, and for that, we should all say, Thank you.
I’m also indebted to my mom, Ken’s mom, and Ken’s sister for watching my kids at the drop of a hat so that I can meet a deadline or catch a plane. It takes a village, y’all. Thank God I have a good one.
It also takes a village to edit these damn books. A huge, huge thank-you to my content editors, Karla Nellenbach and Traci Finlay; my copy editors, Jovana Shirley and Ellie McLove; my beta readers, Sammie Lynn, Sara Snow, and Tracey Frazier; and my proofreaders, April C., Michelle Beiger DePrima, and Rhonda Lind for always, always squeezing me in when I need you, at least pretending to be excited about my books, and polishing them up quickly and thoroughly every single time. You guys are the first people I let read my work, and your sensitivity and enthusiasm are what give me the confidence to hit publish. I hope you know how much I appreciate you.
And as if editing them isn’t hard enough, then I have to turn around and sell the damn things. Thank God I have the magical unicorns of Bookcase Literary Agency—Flavia Viotti, Meire Dias, and Maria Napolitano—and the rock stars of Social Butterfly PR—Jenn Watson, Sarah Ferguson, and Brooke Nowiski—on my team. Anytime I have good news to share, a book to publish, or a karaoke bar calling my name, you guys are always there with a thoroughly researched plan, a handful of Advil, and your Uber app on standby. Thank you for spreading the word about these stories and for getting them into as many new hands as possible. You are the wind beneath my wings.
And speaking of spreading the word, I couldn’t do it without all of my author friends—especially you, Colleen, only because I haven’t mentioned your name in this book yet. Thank you for selflessly sharing your platforms, your resources, your time, and your expertise to help me succeed. I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again. I don’t have competitors; I have coworkers. I love you guys.
To Larry Robins and J. Miles Dale, thank you for believing in me. You took a quirky debut Frankenbook that was too sexy to be a comedic memoir and too autobiographical to be a romance novel and somehow turned it into a Netflix series. I don’t know what the hell I did to deserve you, but I am eternally grateful to you both. I can’t wait to squeeze you on the red carpet!
And as always, to the readers, bloggers, and bookstagrammers of #TeamBB, you guys are my ride-or-dies. Thank you for the gorgeous teasers, the comments and shares, the reviews that never fail to make me cry, the thoughtful gifts, and the relentless, rabid support you’ve showered me with over the years. You overwhelm me with your love, and I hope when you come see me at an event or interact with me online that you feel it returned tenfold. Also, all of your affection totally makes up for the fact that Ken is an emotional cyborg, so he thanks you, too. I yell at him a lot less now that I have you.
About the Author
BB Easton lives in the suburbs of Atlanta, Georgia, with her long-suffering husband, Ken, and two adorable children. She recently quit her job as a school psychologist to write books about her punk rock past and deviant sexual history full-time. Ken is suuuper excited about that.
BB’s memoir, 44 Chapters About 4 Men, and the spin-off 44 Chapters novels are being adapted into a steamy, female-centered dramedy series for Netflix called Sex/Life, coming late 2020 or early 2021.
The Rain Trilogy is her first work of fiction. The idea, fittingly, came to her in a dream.
If that sounds like the kind of person you want to go around being friends with, then by all means, feel free to drop her a line. You can find her procrastinating at all of the following places:
