startling amount of sense considering everything I’d heard about Wade’s past. “Okay then, once I know you guys are safe in bed, I’ll lock up and head home.”
That just made Wade even more upset. His words were broken and confusing as he forced them out. “You’ll hate…me and…and I’ll keep you apart.”
Huh?
Oh, me and Dakota.
I got another glare from Dakota that said I was supposed to fix this, but despite the amazing faith he put in me, I’d barely met Wade and didn’t know what to do. “No one is going to hate you. You’re going to relax and get some sleep and I promise you’ll feel better in the morning.”
Dakota snorted. “That won’t work.”
I needed a script for this next time.
“What will work?” Again, I was fascinated by the response.
“You’ll have to stay too.” Dakota scoffed and it made me feel like a kid whose father thought they weren’t smart enough to make a decision on something simple. “There’s no way around it. He’s just going to worry and then I’ll have to explain why we haven’t fucked yet. Let’s go to bed.”
When his odd rant came to an end, he grabbed Wade’s hand and started dragging him back toward the bedroom.
Wait.
I was supposed to come too?
And boy, was he frustrated that we hadn’t had sex yet.
That made me grin…because he loved me. He was frustrated that the man he loved hadn’t made love to him yet.
Oh yes, we had a lot to talk about tomorrow.
Following my fascinating soon-to-be-lover, I shrugged. There was no way they were sober enough for anything sexual. I just hoped Wade wouldn’t kill me when we woke up.
“I have to be in the middle because he wiggles.” With that declaration, Dakota shoved Wade into the bed like he was pushing him into the pool and sighed.
He really was fascinating.
Wade didn’t seem to mind. He sighed and closed his eyes. “I like being tucked in.”
If that was being tucked in, his husband had to have been an asshole. Deciding it was probably just drunk ramblings, I narrowed my eyes at Dakota and dropped my voice low. “Be nice.”
He sighed but nodded. “Yes, Sir.”
“You should call him Master.” Wade smiled as his voice took on a sleepy, lost sound. “Doms who love you and control you should be Master.”
Dakota stopped mid-stride as he climbed on the bed. “He loves me?”
The fact that the question was aimed toward Wade and not me was interesting.
Wade gave another sleepy smile. “He rescued you. Knights in shining armor always love the omegas they rescue.”
Dakota must have liked that idea because he nodded and started moving again. “Very true. You’re smart.”
And well past drunk.
Dakota flopped down on top of the covers and wrapped his arms around Wade. They were both softly snoring in seconds. Leaning over the bed, I gave them both kisses before I pulled the blanket from the bottom of the bed over them.
They were so cute like that, it was hard to remember how wonderfully nuts they both were.
Chapter 13
Dakota
I was going to die.
When the bed shifted and Wade groaned, I reached out and smacked him. “You have to stop letting Austin play bartender.”
He groaned again. “It was your idea, smart-ass.”
Really?
“We’re still going to blame Austin.” He’d probably asked me when I was thinking about something else.
“It’s too early. Go back to bed or I’m going to spank both of you.”
The voice coming from the other side of the bed sounded suspiciously familiar. “Wade?”
“What?” He didn’t sound concerned enough to me.
“Why are you cuddling with Tristan?” I wasn’t willing to open my eyes yet, but I knew that voice. I reached out again and flopped my hand around. Yep…there were two of them over there.
“He’s warm?” Wade grunted. “I’m pretty sure this is not my fault. Austin did it.”
“Bullshit.” I snorted. “When I wake up again, we’re going to talk about you sleeping with my Dom.”
Giggles said he wasn’t terribly concerned.
Tristan didn’t find it as funny as Wade did. “What did I say about waking me up?”
It was too early to talk about spankings, so I relaxed back against Wade. But Wade seemed to disagree with that decision. “If you spank me, I get to come. That’s how it works.”
“I have so many questions for you two. But later. It’s too fucking early.” Tristan yawned and I felt the bed shift.
When a hand slid over my face and down my chest, I realized he’d wrapped his arms around both of us. “One more question.”
“Fine. One.”
“Why are you sleeping
