Ravenzario, but at the airport? It’s probable. I have precheck and fly enough that I have premium status on most airlines and can get through security easily enough. Hopefully, here in the States, we can find a corner to sit in where we won’t be noticed too much. But I don’t know where we’re going today. Who knows what it will be like.”
“I’ve never thought about that.” She rubbed her eyes with the heels of her hands. “Mia and Lani have told me it’s a little weird for them. Their husbands attract attention. Eli Whitaker is one of the hottest actors on the planet right now, after Sir Peter Barker. Eli married Mia late last spring. Not long after that, Lani married an actual prince. Like tiara and crown and titles and stuff. They’ve both started to get recognized even outside of Trumanville. That’s going to happen to me, too, isn’t it?”
“Probably. Not immediately, unless this show takes off like gangbusters, but eventually. It’s part of a relationship with me.”
Something about the way he said it made her wonder about his previous relationships, but before she could ask, he’d rolled away from her to pick something up off the side table. He laid on his back and held up the camera in one hand with the battery in the other.
“Since we only have a little over an hour, we should probably get this over with.”
Madi needed to visit the bathroom first. “I’ll be right back, then we can.”
After taking care of business, she ran a brush through her hair and put a little bit of make up on.
Wyatt laughed as she slid back under the covers. “You already looked adorable.”
“I don’t care. I’d rather be a little more presentable.”
He lay on his back with an arm out toward her. “I think they want us kind of snuggled together.” Setting the camera down, he held up a card. “Yep. Snuggle and answer the questions, but make it look natural.”
That’s how Madi found herself tucked in next to Wyatt as he turned the camera on and held it up. The screen had been turned so they could see themselves.
“Well, it’s our first full day of being married,” Wyatt started. “The wedding yesterday was small but beautiful. The most beautiful part was the woman I married.” He twisted his head to look at her. “At least from where I was standing.”
Madi felt herself color before she saw the blush rising in her cheeks on the tiny screen. “You looked pretty nice yourself.” She almost said something about him looking pretty good in the morning, but being so close to the warmth of his bare torso sidetracked her long enough he’d started talking again.
“In a few minutes, we’re going to grab some breakfast before we going to some surprise thing then to the house for a month-long sequestered honeymoon.” He hesitated. “I know one of the things we’re supposed to talk about is what exactly happened last night. My wife and I decided that it’s no one’s business but ours.”
His other hand came up so his fingertips brushed against the hair at her temple. “What happens between us stays between us, so let’s just get that out of the way. We won’t be answering any questions about that part of our relationship.”
Madi tilted her head to look at him. “I’m ready for breakfast. I don’t know what you like to eat, though.”
She felt as much as heard his laugh ripple through him. “It’s the off-season, the beginning of the off-season. I get another week or two of not worrying too much about what I eat, so I’m thinking a big pancake breakfast with lots of butter and syrup and bacon sounds pretty fabulous.”
Madi realized her hand had somehow come in contact with his side. It felt natural to slide it across his stomach as she turned into him and laughed. His arm tightened around her as she did. “That sounds perfect.”
After turning off the camera and removing the battery, Wyatt set it back on the side table. His arm had slipped from around Madi, but as he rolled back toward her, it went back to the previous position and held her close.
Something that felt natural and right.
“That wasn’t horrible, was it?” he asked, his fingers brushing against the silky hair at her temple.
“Depends on how they edit it.” She sighed deeply.
“Hopefully, they leave in the part about not talking about our intimate life. If they don’t, I can have my publicist release a statement
