a bit of a heel emphasized his long legs. Red lipstick drew my eyes directly to his gorgeous, full lips.
He asked his boss, “Even if it’s six weeks?”
“That’s totally fine,” Beck said.
Gabriel settled in on my right and told me, “In that case, we’re all set. My friends that are letting us use their apartment will be home in about three weeks, but they’re totally fine with us staying until you’re finished with the movie.”
I smiled at him and said, “This is going to be great.”
We were joined a few moments later by three more guys who worked at the resort. I’d met Vee the night before, and he greeted me like we were old friends. The other two were a slim Asian-American guy named Ezra and a big blond named Isaac, who looked like a Viking. Ezra parked his wheelchair in front of the fireplace, and Isaac sat at his feet and looked up at him with pure adoration in his eyes.
Everyone started talking about the resort, which I found out was becoming well-known for its summer camps for grown-ups. While they brainstormed some new ideas for the upcoming season, Gabriel took my hand and put his head on my shoulder. At that point, I totally lost track of the conversation. All that mattered was the beautiful man sitting beside me, who smelled like soap and tangerines and everything good in the world.
It still felt like an absolute miracle that I’d actually found Gabriel again. In fact, I could barely believe he was right here beside me. More than anything, I just wanted to enjoy the moment, but worry began creeping in, and I sent a silent plea into the universe—please don’t let me screw this up. I’d never had so much to lose before.
Chapter 3
On Sunday morning, I woke up pinned down in Gabriel’s bed. An arm and a leg were flung across me, and the blankets were so tangled around us that it seemed like a miniature tornado had touched down during the night. All of that made me grin, and I kissed the top of his head and made myself comfortable, since I wasn’t about to wake him.
When he shifted slightly, his thigh grazed my cock. I tried to ignore the fact that I instantly started to get hard, just like I’d ignored it the night before. We’d spent some time kissing and cuddling, but as soon as we’d started to get turned on, both of us had backed off. We just weren’t ready to go there, maybe in part because we knew sex was going to be an issue.
Even though my natural tendency was to be submissive, I figured I could probably deal with that when we finally decided to have sex. But I really couldn’t be anything but a bottom. I’d tried to top in the past, at the request of whatever random hookup I’d been with at the time, and I’d absolutely hated it. I knew he felt the same way about topping. We’d talked about sex in the past, and we’d been on exactly the same page when it came to what we not only liked, but needed.
Sure, that still left us with oral sex and a lot of other ways to pleasure each other, but I was worried about never being able to fully satisfy him. I knew sex wasn’t everything in a relationship, but it was important. For now, we were both content to just kiss and cuddle, but sooner or later, the disconnect of two bottoms trying to make it work was going to be an issue. I knew that for a fact.
After a few minutes, Gabriel woke up and stretched as he grinned at me. He looked adorably rumpled in his baby blue flannel pajamas and what was left of a short ponytail on the crown of his head. I wrapped my arms around him, and he put his head on my chest as I murmured, “It’s so nice to wake up with you.”
“I was just about to say that.” He burrowed into my arms and murmured, “I wish we could stay in bed all day. Since we can’t though, I propose going straight to bed once we get to San Francisco.”
“Works for me.”
“I just realized I never asked how we’re getting there.”
“We can hitch a ride with Phoenix,” I said, “who’s also driving Will, Lorenzo, and Will’s cat. He’s sure we’ll all fit in his SUV. It might be a bit cramped though, so we could take
