was going to drink."
Rory stopped laughing and looked down at me. He tucked a loose strand of hair behind my ear. "Okay, let me clear the air here before we go back out there. I don't want you to get upset again. I've only ever had one other girlfriend. Her name was Harper. I don't know who already told you about her, but I don't care. All you need to know is that I was young and stupid. I thought she was so perfect. And when she broke up with me, it completely blindsided me. I thought that I was in love with her. I thought that she was it. But I was so dumb. She wasn't a good fit for me at all." He rubbed his palm along my cheek. "You're on a whole other level, Keira. Harper means nothing to me anymore. None of those girls in my phone mean anything to me. They never did. So that's it. That's all my dirty laundry. Well, and I have some pain in the ass best friends. But you already knew that."
I laughed and clasped my hands behind his neck. If that was everything, that wasn't so bad. In a weird, twisted way, it was flattering that after sleeping with 100 women he wanted me. I took a deep breath. Now was the time to tell him about the articles.
"So, I've had three boyfriends, which you know. And besides for you, they're the only other people I've slept with. But none of them ever made me feel the way that you make me feel."
"You mean they sucked in bed?" he laughed.
"No. Well, yes." I smiled at him. "What I was trying to say was that they didn't make me feel like I mattered at all. You make me feel special."
"You are special."
"But I've done a lot of dumb stuff too. I'm still young and stupid I guess."
"I don't care about anything that you've done in your past. I'm sure I've done worse. Maybe it would be better if we just move forward instead of looking backwards?"
"I love that idea. But there is one thing that I need..."
A knock on the door interrupted us. "Lovebirds!" Jackson shouted. "Are you done with your make-up sex yet? Connor and I are still hungry!"
Rory laughed.
Crap.
"It appears as though they kept drinking," Rory said. "Come on, I'm still hungry too." He opened the door before I could protest.
Chapter 33
"So did you guys have fun banging it out?" Jackson said.
Connor laughed.
"We were just talking about all those lovely things you revealed about me," Rory said. "And now I think we wasted time, because make-up sex sounds pretty great." He leaned down and kissed me.
"Gross. But I helped, right?" Jackson asked. "Now you know all the bad stuff about each other. Although, I don't know why anyone would want to be with someone who's had over 100 sexual partners. Keira must be more messed up than we realize."
"Okay, just stop talking. Yes, you helped. Geez," Rory said and lifted up the bottle of vodka. It was almost empty. "Sunday Brunch Days aren't usually this crazy, Keira."
"Are they always this delicious? I think this is even better cold." I started giggling again. "I'm sorry, I'm so drunk." I didn't think I had ever had so many shots before.
"I love that it's only 10 a.m.," Connor said. "I don't even remember the last time I was drunk before noon."
"I'm so glad that we're all equally immature. Okay, I want to make a toast." Jackson stood up. "Here's to new friends."
"Thanks, Jackson," I said.
"And don't break my friend's heart," he added. "Because we will kick you out of this group so fast, you won't even know what happened."
"I'm not going to break his heart. I'm in love with him." Holy shit! Did I just say that out loud? I put my hand over my mouth. I really hated drunk me.
"Shit!" Rory pulled his hand away from the stove and put his finger in his mouth.
"I'm going to shove him. I said I'm going to shove him. I'm really abusive in relationships. Shoving is the worst I'll do, though. I definitely won't break his heart." What the hell am I saying?
"Fuck," Rory said as he pulled his finger out of his mouth.
"Are you okay?" I ran over to the sink and turned on the cold water. "Rory, give me your hand."
He walked over to the sink and I put his hand under the water.
"What, were you that surprised that I wasn't
