hassle.”
“I thought you said I should let it go,” Felix said.
Rocky leaned his head against Felix’s damp shoulder. “I did, but I know you won’t. You’ll try, but there’s no way you can resist the lure. It’s who you are.”
“An inquisitive asshole?”
“An honorable man who can’t stand injustice,” Rocky said. “Big and Sexy Jude Arrow only succeeded in waving the red flag in front of the bull with his dire warning.”
Felix laughed. “You’re right.”
“I’m also hoping you’ll change your mind once you see the video.” Rocky pulled his phone out of his pocket, turned the volume down low, and hit play. He fast-forwarded the recording until he reached the part he wanted Felix to see.
There was a black half-moon shaped sofa with three men sitting on it. The blond man on the far right was Cameron Spencer. The dark-haired man on the far left was someone Felix had never seen. The white-haired man in the middle receiving a blow job from a curvy, naked redhead was none other than Jack Mercy, the alleged crime boss of the Southern mafia.
“Did you know Mercy was a member of the club?” Felix asked.
“Mercy is Gentleman Jack.”
“Christ,” Felix said. Why hadn’t that occurred to him? Because Jude Fucking Arrow has thrown you off your game.
Rocky snorted. “Pretty sure that’s what Mercy is saying too.”
Felix didn’t care about Mercy’s reactions or thoughts; he only had eyes for Spencer. The Auto King wasn’t touching the leggy blonde woman sitting on the arm of the sofa beside him, nor was he watching the tableau. Spencer stared down at the tumbler in his hand, a slight frown marring his brow. What was he thinking about?
Felix turned his attention to the man he hadn’t recognized. He was dressed as elegantly as Spencer and Mercy, but something set him apart. Maybe it was the naked hunger in his eyes as he watched the woman blow Mercy. Or perhaps it was the rough edges that no amount of fine fabric could soften. Whatever the reason, Felix hated him on sight. The intensity only grew when the man fisted the redheaded woman’s hair and shoved her head farther down Mercy’s shaft. Rough Guy laughed as Mercy’s head lolled back against the sofa, and Spencer abruptly stood up.
He handed his drink to the leggy blonde and started walking toward Rocky. He’d only made it a few steps when Mercy called out. Spencer stopped but didn’t turn around. Mercy cupped the woman’s chin and lifted her head. He dropped a brief kiss on her mouth before whispering something in her ear. The woman nodded before scooting over a few feet and reaching for Rough Guy’s belt.
Mercy tucked his spent dick away, then rose to his feet. Rough Guy started to move the woman aside to follow, but Mercy held up a hand and gestured to the redhead at his feet. Rough Guy relaxed back against the sofa and smiled down at the redhead. Mercy caught up to Spencer, and the two men started walking toward Rocky together. That’s when he spun around and started retreating through the club.
Felix knew what Rocky’s video captured next, but he let it play on. On the screen, Rocky entered the corridor outside the jack of spades area. The sight of Felix and Jude kissing so passionately stole his breath. He let the recording play until the moment Rocky punched Jude in the mouth.
“I think I might love you a little,” Felix teased.
“You love me a lot,” Rocky countered. “Just not the same kind of love you feel for that doofus.”
“I’m not in love with Jude.”
Rocky’s laughter vibrated the chaise and echoed throughout the pool area.
A smile tugged at Felix’s lips, but he fought it off. “I’m serious.”
“About as serious as your hand was when reaching for his belt,” Rocky countered.
Felix waved a dismissive hand. “That was lust, not love.”
“Don’t even get me started on the make-out session you two had in the back seat of the Lincoln.”
“I was keeping him busy so he didn’t blow our cover,” Felix said defiantly.
Rocky laughed harder for several moments. Then he took a deep breath before turning solemn eyes on Felix. “Well, it worked. I picked up enough bits and pieces of Spencer’s conversation with Mercy in the parking lot to know something is going down at the dealership on Monday night.”
“Which dealership?” Felix asked. “Spencer owns several. They don’t call him The Auto King for nothing, you know.”
“Mercy mentioned port authority agents, so I’m figuring it’s the one in Savannah.”
Felix better
