Laura’s was signed, HC. It’s not much but it’s a start.”
“A start that I was able to work off of,” Slim says. “I’ve been searching any enemies we might have with those initials but haven’t come up with anything. Once my friends get me the info on the owner of the blood and tongue, I’ll start searching there as well.”
The Sons don’t really have any enemies but I’m sure there are a few people out there who don’t like us much. Hopefully, we can figure this shit out soon. The thought of my woman, yes, my woman, out there alone right now has me stressing more than ever.
“What about each of us as individuals?” Slim asks. “It would take a few days, but I could dig into all of our backgrounds and see if I can match those initials with someone from one of our pasts.”
“Whoever is doing this is after the club as a whole,” Bear says. “It wouldn’t hurt for you to look into it, but I don’t think you’ll find anything.”
Slim nods and walks back to Bear’s office where he’s set up his equipment.
“If you need to leave this building for anything,” Bear says to the room. “Don’t do it alone.”
With our Prez’s final word, everyone goes back to doing their own thing.
I pull out my phone and text Rachel, silently laughing at her reaction when she finds out what I’ve done to my contact name in her phone.
Hey baby, just so you know, my decision about wanting you in my life has only gotten stronger this past hour. But I’ll give you the day you’ve asked for. Expect me there this time tomorrow. Have sweet dreams, beautiful.
“Ink, can you hold Daisy for a minute?” Rose asks as I’m tucking my phone back into my pocket.
“Well, of course, I will hold this pretty little lady,” I say, snatching little Daisy from Rose’s arms. “Come with uncle Ink and I’ll tell you some deep secret shit about your daddy.”
Rose laughs as I walk away.
Yeah, I was an idiot before. I can’t wait for the domesticated life to take hold of me.

Sexy Stud Muffin: Hey baby, just so you know, my decision about wanting you in my life has only gotten stronger this past hour. But I’ll give you the day you’ve asked for. Expect me there this time tomorrow. Have sweet dreams, beautiful.
I don’t know if I want to laugh or scream at the incoming text. For one, I know exactly who Sexy Stud Muffin is. Also, I never gave him my number and I don’t remember a time when he was able to take my phone without my noticing.
Two can play this game.
I’m sorry, but this time tomorrow isn’t going to work. I forgot that I promised a friend that I would go on a double date with her, her boyfriend and his brother. Can we shoot for the day after?
With a satisfied smile, I decide to find something to read as I wait for him to respond. Time for a good book to escape into. As I reach for my kindle on the bedside table, I knock off my charger cord and bottle of water. Not the first time I’ve done that and I’m sure it won’t be the last.
I’m about to make my way to the floor to pick them up when my phone rings. Already knowing who it is, I answer without looking and lay back down.
“Hey, there, Stud Muffin,” I answer, trying my best to hold back a giggle.
“You are damn lucky that I have a baby in my arms, or I’d be on my way over there to tie you down.”
The anger in his voice wipes the smile off my face. What the heck?
“You afraid I’m going to run away?” I tease, trying to lighten the moon.
“That’s exactly what I’m afraid of,” he says. “Until you decide if you want to give us a chance, no double dates with anyone.”
I freeze, realizing why he sounds so angry.
“I was only teasing,” I say gently. “I don’t really have a double date. Even if I did, I would likely bail.”
Sammy’s quiet and I hear the soft sounds of the baby in his arms. I wonder whose baby it is. I wonder if he’s had sex with the baby’s mother.
“Aren’t you supposed to be in lockdown?” I ask, trying my best to push the jealousy aside.
“I am,” he finally says. “I’m surrounded by people at this very moment. None of them are you and
